So You Think You Can Dance first premiered on Fox in Summer 2005 and has since aired three additional summer installments.  Its fourth season premiered on the heels of American Idol's seventh-season finale in late May.

"We're delighted to have Dance back for a fifth season next year," said Fox reality executive Mike Darnell.

"Fox is very lucky to have television's preeminent performance competitions in American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, and it's no coincidence that creator and executive producer Simon Fuller and executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe have been a part of both these successes."

So You Think You Can Dance's fourth-season Wednesday night performance episodes and Thursday night result shows currently rank among this summer's Top 5 regular programs in both the Adults 18-49 and 18-34 demographics.

It also ranks No. 1 in its Wednesday and Thursday night time periods among all key demographics.

So You Think You Can Dance's final fourth-season performance episode will air Wednesday, August 6 at 8PM ET/PT on Fox, with each of the Top 4 finalists -- Twitch Boss, Courtney Galiano, Katee Shean and Joshua Allen -- performing one last time for home viewer votes.

So You Think You Can Dance's live two-hour fourth-season finale will then air on Thursday at 8PM ET/PT, with the winner being revealed based on home viewer votes.
