When Fred stepped out of a limo on the first night of filming, he showed Rachel their old yearbook photos. Rachel then revealed that when Fred attended camp as a kid, she was one of his camp counselors.
She also made it known that he was quite the troublemaker as a kid, something she had a tough time getting over.

- Fred's alma mater is Florida A&M University.
During his senior year, he won a student-wide election to become the male student representative as "Mr. Florida A&M University," and he also served as a student recruiter for the school.
- The Bachelorette contestant is six feet tall and has no tattoos.
- Fred graduated with both his Masters of Business from Florida A&M University and Masters of Fine Arts in Film Production from Florida State University in August of 2015.
