Genshin Impact introduced the new region of Fontaine during a live stream Friday.

The popular video game showcased new characters, events and mechanics in its Version 4.0 special program.

Genshin Impact, an open-world action, role-playing game published by HoYoverse, will release Fontaine, the fifth region in the game, on Aug. 15 in the United States.

Version 4.0 will feature new characters, including magician siblings Lyney and Lynette and their brother. Freminet.

Lyney is an archer with a Pyro vision, while Lynette is a sword-user with the power of Anemo. Freminet wields a claymore and has a Cryo vision.

The new version will introduce the Hydro Archon, Furina.

Lyney and previously released character Yelan will be featured in the first phase of 4.0 banners alongside Lynette, while Zhongli and Childe will have re-runs in the second phase with Freminet.

In addition, the special program gave a glimpse of the first underwater areas for players to explore.

Events will include Mega Meka Melee, Relic Records: Creations of the Hydro Nation, Studies in Light and Shadow: A Fontaine of Enchantment, and Verdict of Blades.

Genshin Impact also released a trailer for Version 4.0 titled "As Light Rain Falls Without Reason." The teaser informs players of an ominous prophecy in Fontaine, where its people will be dissolved into the waters.
