Gigi Hadid is going public with her struggle with thyroid disease.
"My metabolism actually changed like crazy this year. I have Hashimoto's disease. It's a thyroid disease," Hadid told the audience.
"It's now been two years since taking the medication for it, so for the [Victoria's Secret] show I didn't want to lose any more weight," she added. "I just want to have muscles in the right place, and if my butt can get a little perkier, then that's good."
Hadid's weight loss had raised some eyebrows at the 2016 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
She said at the panel, however, that she loves baked eggs and bacon and doesn't deny herself when it comes to food."I'm not a salad and meat type of person; to me that's boring," she shared. "I also like making tomato soup from scratch with grilled cheese dippers on the side. If I can cook it with ingredients that I know are good, then I'll eat anything. Carbs, or whatever!"
Hadid's mom, former "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Yolanda Foster, is diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease, and an outspoken advocate for awareness and research. Yolanda revealed in 2015 that Hadid's sister and brother, Bella and Anwar, also have Lyme.
"I couldn't ride. I was just too sick. And I had to sell my horse because I couldn't take care of it."
Hadid is known for her modeling work with Victoria's Secret, Guess and Tommy Hilfiger, and was named the new face of Reebok's #PerfectNever campaign in October.
