The Celebrity Apprentice star Donald Trump fired comedian Gilbert Gottfried during Monday night's two-part episode of the NBC reality competition's seventh season.

The event needed to focus on the original branded theme or slogan and also include a tasting menu based on pre-existing food products. The presentations were judged by Luvo executives, a live audience and representatives from Delta Airlines. Vortex and the women's Infinity team were judged on brand messaging and overall presentation.
Movie star Vivica A. Fox willingly stepped up to the plate to serve as her team's project manager. NFL player Terrell Owens was picked out of his group to be the project manager. The winning project manager would earn $50,000 for his or her charity.
Once in the boardroom, Vivica firmly pointed out that Dancing with the Stars eighth-season winner and Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson had checked out of the task early on. Vivica said Shawn just didn't want to be there because she didn't feel good and she contributed very little. Shawn disagreed, saying she ran around for six hours trying to find props for their presentation.
Advisor Eric Trump then revealed what the Luvo executives thought of each product tasting. Infinity embraced the message and Leeza Gibbons was a great spokesperson, however, the timing of their food service was off and some of the samples got cold.
Fellow advisor Ivanka Trump told the men's team their service was professional and every celebrity was represented well. However, Gilbert's jokes were inappropriate for a family brand and the company would have a very hard time defending their slogan, which leaned more towards a dieting direction than living a healthy lifestyle.
Therefore, Vivica's team won the task. Terrell then chose to take Gilbert and Geraldo back into the boardroom with him. Gilbert argued that no one ever died from an off-color joke, but Terrell said Gilbert didn't write down his instructions and had been warned about the family audience. Geraldo and Terrell worked on the mediocre slogan together.
Trump explained that he couldn't fire Gilbert for being inappropriate, but the executives simply didn't like his comedic performance.
