Grant Ellis has teased how he had a very "difficult" time at the end of his The Bachelor journey.

"There are multiple love stories -- and I'm not talking about with different women. I'm talking about between me and my father, and the emotional connections were so strong that it was difficult in the end," Grant shared during a recent appearance on the "Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe" podcast.

"But ultimately, you have to follow your heart and make sure that you're leading with that, and not leading with what you think people are going to want."

Grant acknowledged how The Bachelor "gets real" -- and how it didn't take long to get to that point.

"You're like, 'Now I have to hurt people I actually care about,'" recalled Kaitlyn, who starred on The Bachelorette's eleventh season.

"That was actually the hardest part for me," Grant admitted.

"Even from Night 1 and the first Rose Ceremony... you don't really know who these people are, but you have empathy. So it just gets progressively harder."

Grant acknowledged how he certainly felt the pressure towards the end of filming Season 29.

"There is a big decision at the end of this... Sometimes on the one-on-one dates, because the chemistry is so strong, you're not thinking about the end," Grant shared.

"You don't think about that, but as it gets closer, you're like, 'It's game time!'"

And Grant said "the ladies were so great" at the end of the season that his final choice was a struggle.

"The Final 2 were both amazing women, and I had a really hard time. Getting down to that last moment with [host Jesse Palmer] and he's like, 'You have to make a decision,' it was something that was hard for me."

Grant admitted he's "an emotional guy" and he "didn't want to let somebody down."

The Bachelor star continued, "I had a really difficult time, you know? It was hard because that disappointment of letting somebody down. So y'all have got to tune in and see what happens at the end!"

Grant teased what fans can expect to see on his The Bachelor season and how it ends earlier this month in an interview with People.

"Without giving away too much, things ended the way they were supposed to end," Grant told the magazine.

The Season 29 The Bachelor star added, "I don't regret anything."

Grant told Access Hollywood in a separate interview that his cast of women -- which started with 25 bachelorettes and is now down to seven women -- was absolutely "wonderful" and impressive.

"And when it comes down to the last two, they are the most amazing and stunning women," Grant teased.

"I think there are a lot of [pivotal] moments in my season... but I will say my season has a lot of emotion. It really has a mix of different things that add to it."

Grant admitted he "can't wait" for fans to watch the rest of his The Bachelor season unfold, and he told Parade that the overall tone of his season is "a blend of things."

"I think it's emotional, I think it's fun," Grant said.

"I think there's a lot of different stories that come into play. And I think, all in all, it's a really good season. It shows the women's side of the story, but it also shows mine."

Grant shared how the women on his season "brought something different" to the table.

"And the experience was something that was once in a lifetime," he gushed. "I think, throughout the season, you'll see how special and unique each one of them is."

Grant explained how he really appreciated getting to know each woman's individual personality as well as their stories and where they came from.

"I was looking for somebody who was genuine. That's one thing I don't think you can fake," The Bachelor star noted.

Throughout The Bachelor dating process, Grant said he relied on good communication and honesty to get him through one day to the next.

"In order for a relationship to work, you have to develop a friendship first. I learned that from previous relationships and brought that into my season," Grant said.

A preview that aired at the end of The Bachelor's Season 29 premiere on January 27 featured Grant telling the cameras, "I did not know how hard this was going to be... I am so excited to get down on one knee and propose. I'm ready to be with somebody."

"But the problem is that I'm torn between two women," he continues. "I have a ring and I don't know who I'm going to give it to."

Grant proceeds to admit to his father in the clip, "I have to decide, and I only have an hour to do it. Both of them are amazing."

Grant calls his predicament "insane," explaining, "I'm going to have to make this decision on a time clock. I love both of these women, but I'm scared of making the wrong decision."

The preview then shows Jesse telling Grant, "Both of the women are on their way here right now, and I really need to know which one to send first. Do you know what you want to do?"

"The truth is, I don't know," Grant concludes.

But Grant suggested to Parade that his anxiety and confusion leading up the Final Rose Ceremony was because he was dreading the idea of hurting his runner-up bachelorette.

"I don't think it was hard for me to choose. I think the hard part was letting somebody down," Grant said when asked about his difficult final-rose decision.

Jesse, however, recently told Us Weekly that Grant was, in fact, "so conflicted" when choosing between his last two women standing.

In one preview ABC had released in December 2024, Grant was shown meeting with Jesse on the day of his Final Rose Ceremony and explaining that he was still unsure of which woman he was going to pick.

"Well, we've got both women," Jesse noted in the clip. "They're here on standby. And of course I have to know which one to send first."

Jesse said the preview was "real" as well as "authentic" and "not edited.

Jesse claimed that it got to a point where production had to nudge Grant along in order to keep the cameras rolling.

"It got to the point during our conversation where it was so up in the air, I mean, we had to get it going," Jesse said.

The Bachelor host pointed out how Grant had to make his mind up, even if he didn't feel completely ready to make a choice.

"He's got to make a decision and we have to have an ending," Jesse noted.

"And I'm sorry I did it and I said it that way and to kind of break that fourth wall, but I had to say it to help him understand."
