Gwen Stefani released her "Used to Love You" music video on Facebook on Tuesday.
The emotional video focuses on the 46-year-old singer's face as she fights back tears throughout the song. Lyrics include "You go, I'll stay/You can keep all the memories," and "I don't know why I cry/But I think it's 'cause I remembered for the first time since I hated you/That I used to love you."
"Used to Love You" will appear on "The Voice" coach's forthcoming third studio album.
The singer debuted the song in concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on Saturday, telling fans, "I just want to share a song that I wrote recently. This song is really special."
"I needed to go through what I needed to go through to write the record that I needed to write," she told Entertainment Weekly of the new album Monday.
"There was a lot of prayer and meditating in the sense of trying to be open and grateful with this record."
Stefani and Rossdale married after seven years of dating in September 2002, and announced their intent to divorce in August.
The couple share sons Kingston, Zuma and Apollo, and Stefani recently told Vulture her belief in a master plan helps her balance family and work.
"Things just work their way out the way they're supposed to," she said. "I'm following and I'm listening. I'm just praying, and all the time trying to find my way because it is super challenging. I don't know how it works out. Sometimes it just doesn't, you know what I mean?"
