Hannah Brown is opening up about why her relationship with her final The Bachelorette pick Jed Wyatt was already struggling before his now-former girlfriend, Haley Stevens, publicly came forward and exposed Jed's betrayal.

"It was hard right off the bat. We loved each other, but it wasn't as perfect as I thought it would be," Hannah told People, adding, "He wasn't the man that I got engaged to."

During The Bachelorette's finale broadcast on Tuesday night, Hannah made a passing comment during her break-up conversation with Jed that went largely unnoticed and unexplained.
"Look, we spent two months together and the person that I became during that timespan was who you wanted because clearly, you said, 'Yes,'" Jed told Hannah of his marriage proposal. "And that person is still here."

"I said, 'Yes,' but it hasn't been good since then," Hannah admitted.
So what exactly did Hannah mean by that, and what problems were they having before Hannah found out about Haley's allegations in the People article that was published in June?
For starters, Hannah was still upset over how her parents had reacted when they first met Jed in Crete, Greece, People reported.
"I felt like my parents were looking at the [situation] financially and that really upset me," Hannah admitted.
As fans probably recall, Hannah's parents worried Jed wouldn't be able to support Hannah with his music career, especially since his biggest accomplishment at the time was selling a dog-food jingle.

"And I could tell there was something more, but they wouldn't say anything," Hannah said of her family.
"I think there were already rumors [that Jed had a girlfriend when he went on the show]. They were worried, but they had no proof so they didn't want to say anything."

Hannah's relationship with Jed therefore appeared to cause a bit of a rift in her family.
After Jed and Hannah got engaged, Hannah told People, "I didn't call my parents for like, three days. I knew they'd be disappointed. I wanted to be able to celebrate finding my person and have that time to be with him."

Two days after Jed's marriage proposal, he reportedly broke the news about a woman from his past. But at the time, Jed left out most of the details and truths.
"It was the first time Jed said anything to me about another woman," Hannah explained.
"He said he wanted to let me know that he was hanging out with a girl before the show, but that it was nothing serious. I said, 'But you ended it with her?' and he said, 'Yeah, whatever it was.'"
As shown on the finale, Jed initially told Hannah that his romance with Haley ended one week before taping commenced, but Haley told People in June that Jed left Nashville to film the show in March still dating her and Jed had told her he was only going on the show to promote his music and they'd resume their relationship once he returned home.
"It was really sucky," Hannah said of that conversation with Jed. "I'm like, 'Oh great, we're going to have to deal with this.' I would have liked to have known about it before. It definitely bothered me."

Hannah was also apparently upset about having dumped and devastated her runner-up, Tyler Cameron. Hannah admitted to the magazine she was overwhelmed by the emotional fallout of that relationship.
"I was very honest to Jed about the fact that I was still struggling, and that I said goodbye to a person I loved," Hannah said.
"[On the show], I thought Jed was very secure and confident, and that's something that's important to me. But I realized that he isn't."
"I didn't validate him enough," Hannah revealed. "That put a strain on our relationship. He wasn't the man that I got engaged to."
And then five weeks into their engagement, Hannah discovered all of Haley's allegations in the People article.
Haley claimed in June she and Jed went on vacation together and he told her that he loved her multiple times. Haley also said she had met Jed's family and he ghosted her after filming of The Bachelorette wrapped.
"It was really embarrassing to have to send an article to my fiance and circle parts and ask if they were true. It was rough," Hannah confessed.

Hannah then determined she had to end things with Jed, as Haley's claims were the icing on the cake of what had already been a complicated relationship.
"I don't think the struggles are uncommon," Hannah said. "But it wasn't just what everybody knows about the People article that made it hard."

Hannah, however, said she's not sure what would have happened with Jed had the article never been published.
"It's hard to answer that right now," Hannah said. "But I definitely don't think I would have given up."
It's now been five weeks since Hannah dumped Jed, and now she has her sights set on "repairing [her] heart" and maybe even reconciling with Tyler.
During the live portion of Tuesday night's The Bachelorette finale, Hannah asked Tyler out on a date, and he said, "I would love to, just tell me when. I'm there."
The pair, however, will be starting out as friends and taking things slow, as Tyler told People it would be "unhealthy" to just jump right back into a relationship immediately after a whirlwind couple of months.
