Despite having slept with Peter four times in a windmill during his overnight Fantasy Suite date in Greece, Hannah sent the airline pilot packing in third place, setting up a Tyler vs. Jed showdown at the Final Rose Ceremony.
During Monday night's The Bachelor premiere, Hannah stepped out of a limo on Night 1 -- but only to return the set of wings Peter had given her when they met on The Bachelorette -- and also hosted a "sex stories" group date, which was derailed when Peter found Hannah crying alone in a room.
An intense and emotional conversation therefore unfolded about their past.
"Do you regret sending me home at all in Crete?" a confused Peter asked his former love.
"Yeah, Peter. I question it all the time," Hannah said in tears.
"I felt zero doubt [at the Final 3 Rose Ceremony]. Even when you said Jed's name first, I was so sure that you were calling my name, and then obviously you didn't," Peter recalled.
Hannah then revealed Peter was supposed to replace Tyler in her Final 2 suitors.
"I told you that I had no doubts it was going to be you and Jed... that you were going to meet my family," Hannah insisted.

"You never told me that," Peter said.

"Yes I did," Hannah argued.
"No you didn't," Peter noted.
On The Bachelorette, Hannah ended up giving her final rose to Jed, who in turn proposed marriage, but Hannah called it quits on their relationship five weeks after the finale taped because Jef had been dishonest about the extent of a relationship he had with another woman prior to filming the show.
Hannah admitted to Peter on Monday night's The Bachelor broadcast she didn't want to change her mind about Jed at the time because her relationship with the aspiring country singer was "comfortable" and she was just "falling back into the same thing."
"I broke everybody's heart and my own through this experience," Hannah added.
Even though Hannah clearly had doubts about when she eliminated Peter from the dating process, she seemed to verify he was third place in her heart by asking Tyler out on a date live during The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose after things didn't work out with Jed.
"You know how you asked Tyler out in the last episode? Did it ever cross your mind to maybe ask me for that instead? If not, [that's fine]. I just haven't asked you that and it's been on my mind for a long time," Peter said on The Bachelor episode.
"There was still something when I saw you at AFR," Hannah confessed.

Peter recalled his experiencing watching Hannah ask Tyler for a second chance during Monday night's The Bachelor episode.
"I was telling my parents, 'If she wants to try this again, I am 100 percent onboard.' But my heart just sank when you asked Tyler out. And I love Tyler, and it's nothing against him," Peter said.
"Well, he was, like, reaching out and you didn't say anything," Hannah pointed out.
"I didn't know where you were. I knew you were upset and dealing with this, so I didn't reach out to you and you didn't reach out to me. I didn't know if you just wanted to get past it... I thought you wanted to be the Bachelor."
Hannah continued, "And when I walked out there on [AFR] I felt a lot more than I thought I was going to. I didn't think there would be that much spark. Because I knew there was still something there."
Peter was left feeling totally confused. Hannah didn't seem to know what she wanted from him or their relationship, and a part of him wished she would join his lineup of bachelorettes and compete for his heart this time around.
"I can't help how my heart feels. I look at her and I just don't want to stop looking at her and I want to just kiss her and just have had all this work out. And it didn't. And I know it didn't," Peter explained to cameras.
"I just feel like such a jerk because I have such awesome girls here expecting to meet someone that was truly ready to have this work for them as well. And -- I don't know."
While Peter's The Bachelor season was filming, Hannah was competing on Dancing with the Stars with her pro partner Alan Bersten. Hannah and Alan went on to win the mirrorball trophy.
The rest of Peter and Hannah's conversation will play out during next week's The Bachelor episode for Season 24.
