"The Hills isn't real" believers apparently have a new, unexpectedly supporter on their side: co-star Heidi Montag.

"I'm just glad I don't have to deal with all the drama," Montag told Blender in an interview published in the magazine's December issue.  "I mean it's fun to watch, but I'm glad it's not my life.  I'm actually a drama-free person."

While Montag claims what viewers see on the MTV reality series isn't her real life, her former BFF and The Hills feuding partner Lauren "L.C." Conrad begs to differ.

"There have been some rumors in the press about The Hills being fake," Conrad said in a statement last week, People reported.  "Many of you have been asking me if the rumors are true. There are false rumors every week about me and I can't address every rumor out there, but I feel like this was important for me to respond to. The show is not fake and this is really my life."

Montag and Conrad's feud is at the center of The Hills' weekly drama and stems from Conrad's previous allegations that Montag and her fiance Spencer Pratt began spreading rumors about an alleged sex tape she made with former Laguna Beach star Jason Wahler.  Conrad denies such a tape exists and Montag and Pratt have also denied starting the rumors, instead blaming Pratt's ex-friend Brody Jenner for spreading the rumor.

"Lauren doesn't like me and she thinks I did something to her, and that's how it's spun," Montag told Blender.

As for Pratt, Montag thinks he gets a bad rap from the way he's portrayed on The Hills.

"I think he's often just joking," she told Blender.  "But then you put some music to it and a couple of looks and suddenly he's an ass... Spencer is very ambitious, very smart and very crafty.  He is just on The Hills for fun."

Montag is apparently aware that her reality-television stardom can only take her so far, as she's preparing to begin working on her debut album in February.  Thanks to help from Pratt, Montag was put in touch with Grammy Award-winning music producer David Foster.

"David Foster heard I was working on music and he was like, 'Come by the studio, I'd like to see if you can sing," Montag told Blender.  "So I sang for him a little bit and he was like, 'Okay, great.  Let's do this.'"

Despite the aid of a well-known producer, Montag's first foray into the music industry hasn't been without its problems.  She performed her song "Higher" during her 21st birthday party at a Las Vegas nightclub, a performance that was largely met by boos.

"It's not a song people know and can sing along to, and it's not a club song where people can shake their booties.  So it was maybe not the right place," Montag told Blender.  "But a lot of people were screaming and saying, 'I love it, I love it, I wanna buy your CD right now!'"

Montag -- who claims she's "always been singing" -- described her upcoming album as "kind of like the Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears and Fergie."  Her talent has already been praised by one -- albeit not the most objective -- critic.

"Heidi is going to be the biggest pop star in the world," Pratt told Blender.

Since Montag also has an affinity for scripted acting, she has her sights set on following in the footsteps of American Idol third-season finalist and Oscar-winning Dreamgirls actress Jennifer Hudson.

"I also plan to win an Oscar," she told Blender.  "I'm very ambitious."
