According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter earlier this week, the Honey Boo Boo clan -- which also includes Sugar Bear, a chalk-mining dad; Lauryn "Pumpkin," a 12-year-old sister; Jessica "Chubbs," a 15-year-old sister; and Anna "Chickadee," a pregnant 17-year-old sister -- is only being paid a total of about $40,000 to star in Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's ten-episode first season, which has become an unexpected ratings hit since it premiered on TLC last month.
However Shannon "laughed out loud at the report saying it was wrong" when she spoke with TMZ this week, claiming the family is making significantly more than The Reporter reported.
"It ain't all about money, we've made a lot of great memories through the show. I don't want to talk about how much we are making, but we're very well compensated, that's all I can say about that," she told TMZ.
According to TLC, Wednesday night's 10PM ET/PT broadcast of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's fifth episode averaged 2.4 million viewers and was the No. 1 cable program of the night among the Women 18-34, Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 ratings demographics.
