Heidi Montag is apparently resigned to playing the role of the villain in her seemingly never-ending feud with The Hills' co-star Lauren "L.C." Conrad.

"[MTV doesn't] show the footage of how Lauren was sort of obsessed with [fiance Spencer Pratt], or how she called my mom in Colorado and told her I was involved in an abusive relationship, or how she would scream at me in the middle of the club if I wanted to leave... to go see Spencer."
Montag and Conrad's ongoing tiff -- which Conrad alleges began when Montag and Pratt began spreading rumors that she had recorded a sex tape with former Laguna Beach star and ex-beau Jason Wahler -- had gotten so vicious in recent weeks that MTV imposed a "media blackout" on The Hills' third season cast only a few days prior to its premiere.
Conrad has previously stated that Montag is "not the same person anymore," and if she's getting that impression from watching The Hills, then Montag would apparently have to agree.
"Some of [how my actions are portrayed on the show] is true but some of it is a character that they have created," explained Montag to CosmoGirl!.
Fact or fiction, Montag is apparently pleased to appear on The Hills regardless of how she's portrayed, hoping her star burns bright in the media spotlight instead of bursting into flames.
"Every character plays a unique role and makes his or her own contribution," she told CosmoGirl!. "Even though Lauren and I aren't getting along, I'm still happy to be on this show with her."
