NBC has announced Stern, a prominent radio personality for over 30 years, will be reprising his role as a judge on America's Got Talent's upcoming tenth season.

"I decided that a life without AGT is not a life worth living," Stern said in a statement. "America needs a caring, compassionate and wise judge and who am I to deny the people what they want? It would be selfish of me to walk away."

Stern joined the reality talent competition in 2012.

"Howard's wit and character bring an incomparable humor and insight to America's Got Talent," NBC reality chief Paul Telegdy added. "We are thrilled to have him return."

AGT executive producer Trish Kinane expressed her excitement for Stern returning to the series as well.

"I'm delighted that Howard is returning to America's Got Talent," Kinane said. "He is honest, charismatic and committed to finding the best talent in America. It's going to be an amazing Season 10."

Stern sat alongside Heidi Klum, Melanie "Mel B" Brown and Howie Mandel on the judging panel for the last two seasons.

Open auditions for the tenth season of America's Got Talent are currently underway and will conclude in Phoenix, AZ, on February 22.
