Two housemates subsequently apologized. One, Jade Goody, said on a British talk show that she was living in fear and that her home has been vandalized. Voters evicted her from the show last week.
On Monday, Channel 4 commissioned a panel to review editorial and compliance measures and processes for "Celebrity Big Brother." Serving with Singh are Channel 4 group finance director Anne Bulford and non-executive director Tony Hall, chief executive of the Royal Opera House and a former chief executive of BBC News.
British bookmakers have made Shetty the odds-on favorite to win the show, which ends Sunday.
