"We couldn't be more pleased with the premiere," The History Channel general manager Nancy Dubuc said of Ice Road Truckers' debut broadcast, which drew an overall household rating of 2.6. "This is a great start to a series that showcases why history is so fascinating."
In addition to ranking as the network's most-watched original programming broadcast ever, Ice Road Truckers' premiere also averaged 2 million viewers in the Adults 25-54 demographic and 1.8 million viewers in the Adults 18-49 demographic -- numbers that made it The History Channel's #1 telecast of all time in those demographics.
Overall, Ice Road Truckers premiere finished tied for No. 9 in the Adults 18-49 cable programs rankings for the week ending June 17.
