Newton and Flajnik "were texting and flirting before he started taping [The Bachelor this fall] and she really liked him, so she asked producers if she could go on the show and attempt a relationship with him," a source close to production of the show told RumorFix.
The preview video featured a clip of a brunette calling The Bachelor host Chris Harrison and telling him she was on her way to San Francisco. She was then shown walking into a room wearing a tight-fitted short red dress and heels and later straddling Flajnik in a chair.
The clip also showed the season's bachelorettes discussing how the new girl's arrival posed an unfair threat in the competition and speculating about her connection to The Bachelor star -- as some of them initially believed her to be Flajnik's ex-girlfriend.
"Who is that girl?" Courtney Robertson, a 28-year-old model from Santa Monica, CA, questioned during the video when the mystery girl arrived.
"This f**king stranger walks in...." Rachel Truehart, a 27-year-old fashion sales representative from New York City, NY, said.
"I'm going to kill whoever walks in that door," Emily O'Brien, a 27-year-old PhD student from Chapel Hill, NC, explained.
"What is this girl doing here?" Flajnik asked during the video clip.
"This makes me want to f**king punch a wall," Jaclyn Swartz, a 27-year-old advertising account manager from Newton, MA, said.
"I'm also here to date Ben," Newton, assuming the RumorFix report is accurate, told the bachelorettes.
"It's just not okay," Nicki Sterling, a 26-year-old dental hygienist from Hurst, TX, expressed in tears.
Former The Bachelor star Brad Womack eliminated Newton, a 25-year-old funeral director from Chico, CA, just after her hometown date -- a decision which determined his final three bachelorettes Ashley Hebert, Chantal O'Brien and Emily Maynard.
