Kelly Clarkson reportedly had to cancel a weekend concert due to a problem with her voice.

The original American Idol champ was forced to pull out of her Sunday night show at Minnesota's state fair two hours before it began due to "vocal issues," the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune reported.

"She did her sound check and then saw a medical doctor," fair entertainment director Renee Pearson told the Star Tribune. "Then her tour manager and I had a discussion. Ultimately, it was her decision."

The nearly 8,000 tickets sold for the concert will be refunded, according to the Star Tribune, which added opening act Eric Hutchinson performed a free show for ticket holders.

A makeup date isn't possible since the state fair grandstand is only booked through Labor Day.

"I'd love to have her back next year," Peterson told the Star Tribune, adding those discussions will occur at a later date.

Clarkson's next scheduled concert in September 3 at Pennsylvania's state fair.

Clarkson's fourth album -- "All I Ever Wanted" -- debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album sales chart after selling 255,000 copies during its initial week of release in March.  The album currently sits at No. 80.
