Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert have shared their thoughts on ABC producers picking Nick Viall as Season 21's The Bachelor star.

Viall was a controversial pick for the franchise's next leading man considering he's failed to find lasting love after three stints of dating on reality TV.
Viall finished as the runner-up on both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe's seasons of The Bachelorette before appearing on this summer's edition of Bachelor in Paradise. He made it all the way to the finale with Jennifer Saviano but then broke her heart after she confessed she had fallen in love with him.
"As a fan of the show now, I'm just excited to see what he says," Tolbert continued. "Because he's so real about everything. He tells you exactly how he feels."
"Yeah," Roper simply agreed.
As shown on Bachelor in Paradise 3, Viall was brutally honest with his friends when he needed to be, like when he told Ashley Iaconetti her jealous, clingy behavior is unattractive to men she's interested in. Viall has also been known to have some pretty candid conversations about sex in the Fantasy Suite.
"He won't, you know, hide the tongue at all," Tolbert said. "He'll just put it out there! So I think it will be good!"
Viall told Saviano on Bachelor in Paradise's finale that although he hoped to fall in love with her, his heart just never caught up to her feelings.
According to Saviano's close friend Lauren Himle, who also appeared on BiP, Viall sparked up a romance again with Saviano after the show but dumped her to become the next The Bachelor star when the opportunity presented itself in late August. For that reason, Himle insisted she's "not a big fan" of Viall.
"We're secretly hoping that Jen shows up and confronts him about the relationship, because we don't know what happened [in Paradise]! I want to know... We want to see that," Roper told Us.
Tolbert, however, seems to think highly of Viall's character.
"We roomed together on Kaitlyn's season, so I know him pretty well. We stayed friends after the show," Tolbert told People in a separate interview.
