James Huling definitely spent three years in prison, but CBS has clarified what exactly that means.

The Big Brother houseguest made a passing comment on Wednesday night's broadcast about how he spent several years in prison -- leaving many surprised viewers wondering what crime he had committed.
"I did three years in a prison with big men yelling at me," Huling said while standing up to fellow houseguest Clay Honeycutt, who was bad mouthing him for putting him up on the chopping block.
Huling's "prison" remark was a reference to his previous employment as a corrections officer in South Carolina. Huling, who also noted in his CBS bio for Big Brother he had served in the armed forces for six years, recently moved from Sumter County, SC, to Wichita Falls, TX.
Huling's LinkedIn profile also verifies he served as a corrections officer beginning in 2010.
Prior to CBS' confirmation to Reality TV World, incorrect reports circulated online speculating Huling's prison comment was somehow a reference to an August 2014 arrest in Sumter County for "Contempt of Family Court." He later posted $1,200 bond.
Huling was raised in a boys' foster home in South Carolina when his mother had passed away from cancer and his father was unable to care for him. In his teen years, the self-described "Hillbilly Asian" was adopted by a Caucasian family and grew to love his southern, country roots.
