This all-stars season, the franchise's 34th edition, will premiere with a special two-hour episode on Wednesday, March 8 at 8PM ET/PT on CBS. The show's debut marks Survivor's milestone 500th episode.
Survivor: Game Changers, filmed in the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji in June and July 2016, will feature 20 castaways who are being billed as having made some of the biggest moves in the history of the game divided into two tribes, Mana and Nuku, that are each comprised of 10 veteran players.
J.T. will be competing on the "Nuku" Tribe with Andrea Boehlke, Brad Culpepper, Sierra Dawn Thomas, Cirie Fields, Sarah Lacina, Oscar "Ozzy" Lusth, Zeke Smith, Tai Trang and Debbie Wanner.

Below is a list of five facts Reality TV World has compiled about J.T. Thomas:
- J.T. previously won Season 18, Survivor: Tocantins, in 2009 when he was working as a cattle rancher in Alabama.
J.T. defeated Stephen Fishbach in a landslide 7-0 vote at the show's Final Tribal Council. Survivor: Tocantins featured the franchise's second unanimous jury vote in its first nine years on the air.
- After he won the Tocantins edition, J.T. told Reality TV World he expected the final vote would be much tighter, like 4-3, so he was really surprised to win the game by such a large margin and with so much support.
- His southern charm, personality and ability to strategize made J.T. the first castaway ever to play a "perfect game," meaning not one vote had been cast against him all season long on Tocantins.

- J.T. went on to compete on Season 20, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, in 2010 but he only finished in tenth place.
J.T. was the eleventh castaway voted out of the game because Russell Hantz had betrayed his trust and he became over confident. During this season, J.T. memorably said women couldn't be trusted.
- J.T. attended Troy University to study business administration and became the first person in his family to earn a bachelor's degree. He's reportedly said he hates it when people stereotype him as a dumb hillbilly.
