Jamie Lynn and Alan's Dancing with the Stars casting was announced Tuesday on Good Morning America.
"We have an exciting moment right now. It's time for a pop-in! As we've mentioned, Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars is about to kick off," GMA co-host Lara Spencer said.

"We are so excited. We do have the entire cast joining us tomorrow [September 13], but we thought we'd get the party started a little bit early and reveal one of the couples. And here they are -- Jamie Lynn Spears and Alan are with us!"
Jamie and Alan were live in the studio, and the actor, singer and songwriter gushed of signing her DWTS contract, "I did it!"
"I don't know if one could ever be 100 percent ready to take on something this big. I didn't realize what a commitment it is, but it definitely is, and I'm ready to challenge myself," Jamie Lynn shared.
Jamie Lynn revealed how she's competing on Dancing with the Stars for "a reason" that "means a lot" to her.
"While everybody in my community is on strike at [Screen Actors Guild], I have this unique opportunity where I was offered the chance to work when my community cannot work. So I figured, 'I'll do this and I will donate my weekly salary to SAAG, [Writers Guild of America],'" Jamie Lynn explained.

"[I want to] just give back to them during a time when they can't even give to themselves."
Lara pointed out how Jamie Lynn is about to have a "life-changing and body-changing" experience.
"I'm looking forward to that!" Jamie Lynn gushed. "Maybe I'll come back to GMA at the end a size smaller."
Alan proceeded to share how he and Jamie Lynn already had their first rehearsal and it was "great."
Alan teased of working with his celebrity partner, "Jamie Lynn is so hardworking and so dedicated, and it's actually so much fun. We get along so well."

Jamie Lynn explained how she grew up with "the traditional sense of dancing" such as tap, jazz, and ballet.
"I went more of the cheerleader route, so it's a different kind of dancing," Jamie Lynn said.
"And by the way, ballroom, altogether, every little thing matters, and I think you just have to fully commit from the top of your head to the tip of your toes... It's very hard."
Jamie Lynn also gushed about how Alan has been "wonderful" so far and her family got to meet him.

"He's been great, and I wouldn't rather do it with anyone else," Jamie Lynn noted.
When asked how her sister Britney and the rest of her family reacted to her Dancing with the Stars participation, Jamie Lynn said her 15-year-old daughter was thrilled for her.
"[That was] so surprising. I thought my 15-year-old was going to be like, 'You're going to dance on TV?! What are you doing mom?' But she was like, 'Mom, you have to do it!' She's an athlete and I think she wants to see me push myself," Jamie Lynn reasoned.
"Typically, I'd be working on different ventures, but I think it's just important that I have this opportunity. And if I get up there and embarrass myself, I'm doing it for a good reason, and hopefully I'm giving back to a community that has given [so much] to me since I was a little girl."
Jamie Lynn called this career move "personal growth" and boasted about how she'll be a ballroom dancer "pretty soon."
This won't be Jamie Lynn's first reality show appearance. She competed on Fox's Special Forces: World's Toughest Test earlier this year to prove she's "worth something" more than just being in Britney's shadow. (The Bachelorette alum Hannah Brown and soccer player Carli Lloyd ultimately won the show).
The entire Dancing with the Stars cast will be revealed Wednesday on GMA.
Alan teased how the rest of the Season 32 cast is "amazing," but he bragged about how he and Jamie Lynn are already in first place since none of the other celebrities -- except for The Bachelorette star Charity Lawson and Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix -- have been formally announced by ABC.
"It's going to be so exciting for everyone tomorrow," Alan said, adding how big surprises are in store for home viewers.
Jamie Lynn concluded her interview by saying she's looking forward to making new friends and being a part of the extended Dancing with the Stars family in the future.
Jamie Lynn may have her work cut out for her because former The Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe -- who won Dancing with the Stars' 29th season -- claimed the male pros are "d-cks," especially Alan, who is particularly "crazy in the ballroom."

Kaitlyn, speaking from experience, previously warned Charity to buy herself an ice bath for her feet. Kaitlyn also said the celebrities work seven-hour days without a day off and their bodies will be "hurting."
Kaitlyn told Charity, "It's a really hard thing to go through... Battle through the pain."
The former DWTS winner continued, "The thing is, you've always got to see the light at the end of the tunnel. You're doing something fun, and don't forget that, because people get really caught up... in the competition of it and making it farther."
The new Dancing with the Stars season will feature Alfonso Ribeiro as host and Julianne Hough returning to the ballroom as co-host.
Tyra Banks, who joined Dancing with the Stars in Season 29 to replace Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, will not be returning in an on-screen role.

Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, however, will be reprising their judging roles as the panel of experts.
The show's fourth judge, Len Goodman, announced his retirement at the end of the show's 31st season late last year, and then he unexpectedly passed away in April 2023.
