Jason Underwood tried to quit, and Gordon Ramsay wouldn't let him.

Instead, the 29-year-old sous chef from Las Vegas, NV became the third culinary contestant eliminated from Hell's Kitchen's fourth-season during last night's broadcast of the Fox reality competition series.

"You know, the last girls that got put up on the block, they start crying," said Jason after his ouster.  "Well maybe if I would have cried like some pansy -- some chick -- maybe I'd be back upstairs chilling right now.  But I can't do that.  I'm a man.  I sure as hell can't cry about it.  I am however going to go get drunk."

Hell's Kitchen's third fourth-season episode began following the previous dinner service that saw the elimination of Sharon Stewart. 

Jen, a 24-year-old line cook from Chicago, IL, was immediately enraged with Corey, a 25-year-old private chef from Brooklyn, NY, for nominating her for elimination. Christina, a 25-year-old culinary student from St. Louis, MO, cried about being Corey's other nominee.  Both Christina and Jen survived since Gordon decided to boot Sharon instead.

"Corey had picked me and Christina, one of your strongest people and one of your most intelligent people," said Jen.  "You don't do that -- not this early in the game.  We still have challenges to win."

Jen told Christina that Corey was a "dumb ass blonde," however Corey showed no regrets about her decision.  Corey referred to Christina as a "spoiled little brat" and characterized Jen as "one of the most annoying people I've known in my life."  Christina accused Corey of throwing her under the bus, and Corey brushed it off.  The all-male Blue Team thought Corey played her aggressive hand way to early.

"She played a dangerous game and she lost that game," commented Bobby, a 37-year-old executive chef from Niagara Falls, NY.

The next morning, the 13 remaining contestants were awoken by the sound of chickens clucking.  In addition, the chickens were also running wild in their dorm.  The contestants then met Gordon in the kitchen, and he made it seem like they'd each be responsible for beheading their own chickens.  However that wasn't the case and the contestants were relieved.

While he spared them the hassle of killing the chickens, they each had to properly cut an already dead chicken into eight pieces in five minutes for their next challenge.  The time started and the contestant's were running around like chickens with their heads cut off (pun intended).

The Red Team presented their chickens first.  Jen and Shayna, a 28-year-old catering-company owner from Buffalo, NY, got six; Vanessa, a 31-year-old line cook from Bozeman, MT; while Rosann, a 33-year-old receptionist and former cook from Staten Island, NY; Corey and Christina nailed all eight for a total of 44.

The Blue Team went next and was confident.  However Jason was promptly criticized for only correctly cutting six; Petrozza, a 47-year-old catering director from Charlotte, NC, and Ben, a 29-year-old electrician and former chef from Charlotte, NC, cut all eight; and Craig, a 30-year-old sous chef from Coram, NY, only got two -- eliminating the Blue Team from the challenge.

For their punishment, Jason, Petrozza, Ben, Craig,  Louross, a 24-year-old hotel cook from Las Vegas, NV, and Matt, a 35-year-old sous chef from Pinehill, NJ, would be picking peppers in the blazing sun on a 100-acre farm.

"Craig sucks.  I think he's dead weight and just needs to go on home," opined Ben.

For their reward, the Red Team would be visiting one of the most famous restaurant's on the Sunset Strip.  As the women prepared, Craig bore the brunt of the Blue Team's anger.  The Blue Team left for the farm and the Red Team went for lunch at Saddle Ranch -- where Gordon was surprised to see third-season cry baby Aaron Song.

"Oh my God..." opined Gordon.  "I feel like crying."

The Red Team rode the mechanical bull and ate lunch while the men picked peppers -- with Jason having a hard time with the manual labor it entailed. 

"At the Saddle Ranch, the Red Team decided the best way to beat the Blue Team was to pick them apart one by one," said Christina.

The plan went into action as soon as both teams returned to the dorm, with Corey flaunting her body in the hot tub to distract her male competitors.

"I was just flirting it up with the guys and trying to play with the boys' heads a bit," said Corey. 

While Ben realized she was "using her body to get what she wants out of me,"  Jason wasn't as strong-willed and hopped right in the hot tub.  They offered him food and beer before trying to plant a divide in his team.  Jason willingly ran his mouth, talking trash about his entire team.

"If there's one thing I cannot stand, it's a f**king rat," said Ben.  "What he did tonight, he ratted out his team."  It didn't go over well the next morning when the Blue Team confronted Jason and accused him of being their "weakest link."

Both teams began their dinner service prep, and Corey and Christina tried to work together.  Meanwhile the pressure on Craig and Jason in the Blue Team kitchen was mounting, and it didn't go unnoticed by the Red Team.

"I think the Red Team's going to win tonight," said Jen.  "We definitely do have our share of problems but by far the guys are much more screwed up than we are."

Gordon then explained he was looking for a complete dinner service that night -- with the special dish consisting of chicken.  In addition to picking peppers, Gordon revealed the Blue Team would also be punished by having Bobby cook table side in the dining area instead of in the kitchen with his comrades.  Hell's Kitchen maitre 'd Jean-Philippe would be filling the same role for the Red Team.

"Jason -- you're on desserts," said Gordon sternly.  "Don't eat any!"

However Jason quickly encountered a problem when he didn't know the dessert menu.  He was booted out of the kitchen to go study in the dorms.

Hell's Kitchen's third fourth-season dinner service then commenced, with the first orders going to the Red Team kitchen.  Christina was on hot appetizers and was confident.  Craig filled the same role in the Blue Team kitchen but was being verbally abused by his teammates and there was an overall lack of communication.

Rosann's first appetizers -- salad -- made it to the pass and were criticized by Gordon.  The Blue Team presented their first appetizers, and Petrozza was complimented for his effort.  Craig continued to be harassed when his bacon wasn't ready to roll for the otherwise prepared appetizers.

Ninety minutes into the dinner service, and only half of one Blue Team table had received any appetizers.  Christina and Rosann did much better for the Red Team, and Louross went upstairs to the dorm to bring Jason down.  Jason whined about not being able to perform in front of Gordon, and Louross gave him a profanity-laced inspirational speech.  Jason went back into the kitchen and once again failed to recite the dessert menu.

"I've hit my breaking point.  I'm at the bottom.  I have nothing left," said Jason.  He then made an even bigger mistake when he told Gordon the same thing.

"You want to go home?" asked Gordon.

"Yeah," sheepishly replied Jason.

"You're done?" asked Gordon.

"I'm done," answered Jason.

Gordon looked confused and asked Jason if he could provide anything to the Blue Team.

"Dig deep Jason!" implored Gordon.  Jason struggled in reciting the desserts but eventually got it right.

"I don't think he wanted me to quit.  I think he wanted to beat my ass a little more," said Jason, back at his dessert station.

The Blue Team was seemingly back on track while Vanessa was working on the Red Team's entrees -- however she faltered by serving up raw meat.  She described it as "humiliating" and had to step out of the kitchen to collect herself.  Bobby prepared the special table side, however he was relying on the Blue Team's kitchen to deliver the table's other entrees in time. 

Ben then ordered up burned salmon and was criticized by Gordon.  Needless to say, Bobby's dish was finished first and he tried to delay by serving some of the chicken family-style until the rest of the food went out.  Rosann almost burned the Red Team's kitchen down and while Gordon put the fire out, she still ruined four pieces of meat.

"I'm hoping I'm never going to have that happen again," she said.

Jason started preparing his first desserts.

"I don't have a clue on this earth what I'm doing," said Jason, not a good sign.  "I hate desserts.  They're tedious.  Women can make desserts.  They're not my thing."

Gordon noticed Jason was struggling and gave him an earful before expressing his frustration by repeatedly bashing his head on a table.

"God I got a headache," said Gordon.

Ben served raw salmon this time instead of burnt salmon, and Gordon sent the Blue Team to join forces with the Red Team.

"We've gone backwards!" he shouted.  "Pathetic!  I'm not going to continue this anymore."

Gordon then commended Christina for making an effort with the appetizers and Petrozza for staying with it and having a clear mind.  Both were sent up to the dorms to nominate a member of their team for elimination.  He then threw both teams out of the kitchen.  Both teams opined the poor dinner service, and Christina tried to calm Vanessa down.

"This is all I know how to do, and I don't think I even know how to do this anymore," said a tearful Vanessa.

Christina told Petrozza everyone expected her to put Corey up for elimination and made it sound like that was her plan.  Petrozza similarly said Craig seemed like the obvious Blue Team nomination, but also had questions about Jason.

"I don't know how everybody else feels but I really feel like I'm getting put up tonight," said Jason as if on cue.  "I really don't want to leave.  If it happens it happens, I get put up tonight.  I am going to fight for it and not put my head down like some bitch."

Corey also seemed to sense she'd be nominated since Christina was still "hurt" by the previous dinner service.

"She might be still holding a grudge and is definitely threatened by me," said Corey.

Both teams reconvened in the kitchen.  Petrozza nominated Jason because he "has trouble with cooking skills and communication."  Christina then nominated Vanessa -- which came as a surprise to Corey.  Christina explained she nominated Vanessa because she was on the meat station, which "went down in flames -- literally."

"I deserve to stay because I have yet to totally prove myself," said Jason in defending himself.  "I get nervous.  I don't know why, I'm trying to break out of that.  I'm doing a little better each day.  I know I didn't do good on desserts but I ran my ass off trying to help everybody today."

"You move like a f**king tortoise giving birth," replied Gordon.

Vanessa didn't offer any excuses and said she was disappointed in herself.  Gordon said she was a "stone cold" communicator in the kitchen, but ultimately decided to boot Jason.

"You gave up before we started tonight," Gordon told Jason.  "I pulled you back in the kitchen.  If you haven't got the b*lls to stand there and put yourself back in there -- game over."

Jason then left the kitchen and Gordon pleaded with them to do better at the next dinner service.

"I kept waiting for Jason to show me some energy -- to wake up," said Gordon.  "But he never did.  That's why I'm putting him to sleep."

Hell's Kitchen's next fourth-season episode will air Tuesday, April 22 at 9PM ET/PT on Fox.
