Jeff Probst's new reality series apparently hasn't had its torch snuffed.

The Survivor host says CBS is still planning to forward with his new Live for the Moment reality series despite leaving it out of the network's recent 2009-2010 primetime programming schedule announcement, The New York Post reported Tuesday.

"They love the show," Probst told The Post. "I feel very confident that we're doing it."

CBS ordered the pilot under the title Live Like You're Dying last October, and Probst said it filmed earlier this year and followed a man with Lou Gehrig's Disease.

"It's the best thing I've ever been a part of. It's so inspirational and so positive, I really believe its time for the show," Probst told The Post.

While Probst considered the pilot a success, the reality series was still absent from CBS' 2009-2010 primetime programming schedule when it was announced last month.

"CBS called me the day of the announcement and said, 'Don't be alarmed if you don't hear the announcement, it's only because we don't know where it would go on the schedule yet,'" Probst told The Post.

"We are doing more [episodes]."

According to Probst -- who will host and executive produce Live for the Moment-- one of the main reasons why additional episodes won't be produced until later this year is because he will be spending the summer filming back-to-back seasons of Survivor, beginning with the nineteenth season in Samoa.

"[I] can't even start shooting [Live for the Moment] until the end of September, when I'm back from double duty on Survivor," he told The Post.  "The earliest I could have episodes done would be January."

Each Live for the Moment episode will feature a different terminally-ill person going on "an uplifting adventure related to an unfulfilled wish," according to The Post.

The show will not focus on the more troubling aspects of living with a terminal disease, but rather on how the person is living the remainder of their life to the fullest.

"I think people will see it and it will prompt them to think, 'Am I living? Do I like my job? Should I do something different?' You've got to wake up and start living," Probst told The Post.

Live for the Moment was created by Probst, who will executive produce the series with Mark Burnett.
