Jenn Tran has opened up about her devastating The Bachelorette finale in which Devin Strader regretted their engagement and dumped her on the phone after filming the Final Rose Ceremony.

The Bachelorette's "historic" Season 21 finale featured Jenn boldly proposing marriage to Devin, a 28-year-old freight company owner from Houston, TX, because she thought they had developed a strong and unconditional love.

Devin had led Jenn to believe that she was the girl of his dreams, and Jenn said their engagement was "the happiest day" of her life.
But Jenn said she noticed a "switch up" after filming the finale in Hawaii.

According to Jenn, she was never Devin's main priority and he began "pulling away" -- with calls and texts diminishing -- until he finally dumped her over the phone and then followed Maria Georgas, who had been considered for Jenn's The Bachelorette role, on Instagram.
Jenn reunited with Devin post-split on After the Final Rose, and she revealed on Good Morning America that she feels relieved after having that televised confrontation.
"It definitely was a moment I was wanting to happen for the past month," Jenn explained to GMA co-host Lara Spencer on the show's Wednesday, September 4 episode.
"I just needed to get that off of my chest and start a clean slate and move on with my life."
Jenn went on to clarify the timeline of the demise of her relationship with Devin for fans.

"Devin and I had gotten engaged back in May and we just broke up about a month ago," Jenn noted.
"Since then, it's been off and on, and whatnot. So it was nice to get the closure I finally needed last night."
On After the Final Rose, Jenn cried and questioned how Devin could possibly make such dramatic and seemingly heartfelt love proclamations to then falling out of love with her and treating her like she's "nothing."
Jenn told The Bachelorette host Jesse Palmer, "He said something felt off from the second he proposed and that he regretted getting engaged... He denied ever being in love."

Jesse admitted he was "totally shocked" by this news because Devin had claimed Jenn was the most important person in his life and that he'd never abandon her. During The Bachelorette journey, Jesse was apparently convinced that Devin was head over heels in love with Jenn.
When asked what changed as a result, Jenn insisted on GMA, "With me, nothing had changed with me."
Jenn, to this day, apparently has no idea what caused Devin's cold change of heart.
"I was so happy and I was so ready to start our life together," Jenn shared.
"But I noticed his energy had shifted and his priorities shifted. He wasn't the same person he was on the show, off of the show."

Jenn said "it was pretty immediate" after filming The Bachelorette finale in May when she "started noticing" a change in Devin's attitude and demeanor towards her.
"The efforts were different and the inconsistencies and the things he was promising me -- and then not fulfilling," Jenn recalled.
"I said, 'Maybe it's just the show. It's been a lot coming off the show,' so I gave grace with that. And I think over time, I realized his heart just wasn't in it anymore."
Jenn, however, said she doesn't regret proposing marriage to Devin on The Bachelorette finale and she still stands by everything she had said and done.
"I proposed to a man who had promised me a fulfilling life and a loving partnership and a marriage I always wanted, so I'm very confident in knowing that is still what I want, Jenn said.
"Unfortunately, he just wasn't the man he had talked himself up to be."

But Jenn hasn't lost hope that the right man is out there for her, maybe on a future season of Bachelor in Paradise!
"I would be so lucky to find another man who would be able to fulfill those promises," Jenn said on GMA.
But Jenn has a different journey ahead of her. She has been cast on Dancing with the Stars' upcoming 33rd season, which premieres Tuesday, September 17 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
On trading in roses for dancing shoes, Jenn flashed a big smile across her face.

"I've actually always wanted to learn how to dance, so this is a dream come true," Jenn gushed, before sharing how she hasn't really had any formal training.
"I took one ballroom dance class in college and got credit for it, so I guess that counts!"
Not only did Devin admit to following Maria on Instagram after his breakup with Jenn, but he also went clubbing with Jeremy Simon shortly after they parted ways.
"Not only is that so disrespectful to everything we had shared with each other, but I just don't understand why you would do something like that," Jenn vented to Devin on After the Final Rose.
"It completely invalidated our entire relationship."
Devin didn't explain why exactly he had fallen out of love with Jenn and broken up with her, except for saying that he "fell short" of her expectations for him in the real world.
"I found myself not being able to live up to the things that you need and deserve," Devin acknowledged.
Devin said he watched Jenn grow leaps and bounds on the show, only to contribute to her "recession," which really hurt him at the end of the day. Devin suggested that Jenn was willing to compromise her standards to make him happy and he didn't want her to make those sacrifices for him.
"You have done nothing wrong," Devin said.
Devin admitted he had "failed" Jenn, who insisted she had "fought" so hard to save their relationship.
