Jenn began filming The Bachelorette on Thursday, March 28, according to Reality Steve spoiler blogger Steve Carbone, but she didn't meet her lineup of suitors at The Bachelor mansion in Malibu, CA.
"I think what I've been trying to tell myself [is I'm the] first Asian Bachelorette, first PA student -- we're really breaking the mold this season," Jenn told Entertainment Tonight in a lengthy interview on location before filming began.
Jenn's first night as the Bachelorette, including the initial cocktail party and her first Rose Ceremony, were filmed at Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Santa Susana, CA.
Jenn called the ranch "gorgeous," and she added, "I feel like a new mansion is the perfect way to break the mold... I'm going to bless it with some really good vibes."
ET also reported that Jenn and her bachelors will be traveling to Australia and New Zealand this season.
But Carbone clarified that Jenn and her bachelors left for Australia on Day 2 of production, which means The Bachelorette star won't have any dates in California during her initial rounds of Rose Ceremonies as is customary.
This format is a huge departure from the majority of past The Bachelor and The Bachelorette seasons.
Most of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette seasons began taping at The Bachelor mansion, and a lead typically didn't leave the country until several weeks into the process.
There have been exceptions, however, such as Matt James' The Bachelor season, which filmed its entirety at a resort in Pennsylvania amid the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

Jenn gushed about how she's ready to travel the world for her special season.
"I'm so excited, as a Sagittarius, we love to travel, we love to be independent, we love to do crazy things. I don't know where we're going yet, but I can't wait to find out," Jenn told ET.
Jenn also shared how she'd absolutely love to visit Africa -- if not on The Bachelor, then during some time in the future.
"I've always wanted to go to Africa my entire life," Jenn explained. "I love animals and I would love to go out in the sanctuaries, go on lots of safari rides, all that stuff. So maybe that's in the cards."
The Bachelorette's 21st season is going to premiere this summer, and ABC has already announced a list of 28 potential bachelors who may have been afforded the chance to meet Jenn on Night 1. Her official cast will be unveiled at a later date.
As for what fans can expect to see this season, Jenn teased that she's going to bring "a fiery energy" and a lot of flirtation to the table.
Jenn also said she plans to be unapologetically herself on-camera, showing all "the good, the bad, the chaotic and psychotic."
Jenn may end up with the man of her dreams after having her heart broken on Joey Graziadei's season of The Bachelor.

"You're not going to get Polished Jenn. You're not going to get [Meek] and Perfect Jenn. You're going to get Crazy Jenn, and that's the beautiful part of it," Jenn boasted of her approach to dating on The Bachelorette.
Jenn said she's excited for fans to get to know her as well as her beloved family.
Jenn was smitten with Joey on The Bachelor's 28th season, but he eliminated her right before hometown dates. Joey eliminated both Jenn and Kelsey Toussant when determining his Final 4 bachelorettes: Kelsey Anderson, Daisy Kent, Maria Georgas, and Rachel Nance.
Joey went on to propose marriage to Kelsey during his The Bachelor finale, and the couple is still together. Joey and Kelsey are planning to move to New York together this summer.

When asked how long it took her to heal and move on from her relationship with Joey, Jenn recently told Us Weekly, "You can't really put a time on processing a breakup."
"I think [you take it] just little by little," shared the Physician Assistant currently living in Miami, "and one day you just stop thinking about it. It just took a lot of my friends bringing me ice cream and a lot of that."
