Peter Facinelli filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court Wednesday from actress Jennie Garth, his wife of 11 years, documents show.

Facinelli cited "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of the split and listed Jan. 1, 2012, as the date he and his spouse separated, People.com reported.
The "Twilight" and "Nurse Jackie" actor requested joint custody of the couple's daughters -- Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5.
Garth is best known for her work in the 1990s young-adult drama "Beverly Hills, 90210." She will soon be seen in "Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country," a docu-series following her move with her daughters to a rural California community outside Los Angeles.
