Jennifer Grey and professional partner Derek Hough were crowned Dancing with the Stars' eleventh-season ballroom champions during Tuesday night's live finale results show on ABC.

"Wooo, wooo!" the actress shouted after Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron revealed she and Hough had won the competition based on the combination of their share of the judges' scoring points from Monday and Tuesday night's four finale performance rounds and their share of the home viewer votes that were cast immediately after Monday's two initial rounds.

"We did it, baby!  We did it, we did it," Hough whispered as he and Grey shared a lengthy hug.

Disney Channel star Kyle Massey and his partner Lacey Schwimmer finished in second place.

"Oh my gosh, I love him so much and I'm so proud of him.  And he's a winner in my eyes and that's all that matters," Schwimmer said.

"Yeah, we made it this far so I want to thank all the fans who made this possible, without them [we wouldn't be here]," Massey added. "Derek and Jennifer, congratulations!"

Given they had finished atop the judges' leaderboard during seven of Dancing with the Stars' ten eleventh-season performance rounds, Grey and Hough had been considered the heavy favorites based on pure dance ability.

But teen mom Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas had managed to ride a strong wave of home viewer vote into the finale despite finishing last in the judges' scoring during each the competition's final four rounds, resulting in heavy speculation about whether Palin -- whose advancement had been credited to political supporters of her mother Sarah Palin -- could score one more upset and claim Dancing with the Stars' eleventh-season title.

"Going out there and winning this would mean a lot. It would be like a big middle finger to all the people out there that hate my mom and hate me," Palin boasted early in Tuesday night's broadcast.

However Palin's supporters came up short and she ended up finishing third in the competition.

"I have so many good memories from this competition, this is definitely just been such a life changing experience and I've had the time of my life," Palin said afterwards.

"I'm going to take away a newfound confidence, being self-aware that I can do lots of things. I'm just very thankful for this whole experience," she added in a video package.

Grey won the competition despite dancing her two Tuesday night dances with a ruptured disc she suffered while performing on Monday's show.

"I didn't think I was going to compete tonight," she tearfully told Bergeron after the announcement of her victory.  "But I'm really glad I did."

"Yeah, I bet you are!" Bergeron noted.

Grey and Hough's victory also marked Hough second consecutive -- and third overall -- Dancing with the Stars win.

"Congratulations, a three-peat!" Bergeron told Hough.

"I can't believe it!" he replied.

"The first time, right?" Grey asked Bergeron, noting that Hough's latest victory gives him sole possession of Dancing with the Stars' all-time victory record, which he had previously shared with his sister Julianne Hough, close friend Mark Ballas and fellow pro Cheryl Burke.

"Yeah, first time," Bergeron confirmed.

Grey and Hough had received a perfect 60 out of 60 possible points for the routines they had performed during Monday night's first two finale performance rounds. Massey and Schwimmer had finished in second place with 56 points while Palin and Ballas had placed third with 52 points.

Tuesday night's broadcast then began with all three couples re-performing their favorite eleventh-season dance and the judges ranking the performances from best to worst. Grey and Hough decided to revisit the Viennese waltz they had performed during the competition's first week, while Massey and Schwimmer and Palin and Ballas each opted to re-perform an earlier tango.

Dancing with the Stars judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli ranked Grey and Hough's performance the best, earning them 30 additional points.  Massey and Schwimmer were ranked second and earned 26 additional points while Palin and Ballas were ranked third and earned 25 additional points.

All three couples then also participated in an additional "instant cha cha" round in which they each performed a 60-second cha cha dance back-to-back-to-back to Pink's "Raise Your Glass" -- whose selection they had only learned earlier in the broadcast.

Grey and Hough received 28 out of 30 possible points from the judges, giving them a total of 118 points for all four of their finale dances. Massey and Schwimmer also received 28 points, leaving them with a total of 110 points. Palin and Ballas earned 27 points, giving them with a 104 point total.

The couples' shares of the judges' scoring from all four performance rounds was then combined with their shares of the home viewer votes that were cast immediately after Monday night's two initial rounds and all three couples' final finishes were announced.
