Jennifer Lopez's American Idol negotiations are reportedly nearly complete.

Lopez's negotiations to become a member of American Idol's tenth-season judging panel are in their "final stages" and all but done, TMZ reported Thursday.

"We're told [that] absent a last-minute snag (which is highly unlikely) the deal could be inked as early as next week," the website reported.

Widespread reports that Lopez would be joining American Idol for its upcoming tenth season had surfaced in late July a few hours after Fox and Ellen DeGeneres announced the comedian and daytime talk show host had decided to follow already departing judge Simon Cowell out the door and leave her Idol judging position after just a single season.

Subsequent reports also claimed Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler would also be joining Lopez on a new three-person Idol judging panel that would also feature returning original judge Randy Jackson and drop Kara DioGuardi, who had joined the panel two season ago.  Tyler later said he was "probably" going to be joining American Idol.

However in early August, People reported Lopez's negotiations had fallen apart and Fox was moving on to other candidates due to her excessive demands -- a claim TMZ's sources are denying.

"It's been typical negotiating," a source told TMZ, which reported there "has been no drama and no diva demands."

Fox has declined to comment on the shakeup reports -- which had also included since-confirmed reports that Nigel Lythgoe will be returning to American Idol as one of the show's executive producers.

While still unannounced by Fox, Tyler reportedly completed and signed his Idol deal in mid-August.
