The American Idol judge has paid $22 million for a penthouse at The Whitman in the north Madison Square Park neighborhood, E! News reported.

At 6,500 square feet, the penthouse reportedly features a two-level outdoor expanse, four bedrooms, six bathrooms, a landscaped roof deck with a putting green, a chef's kitchen and a full-service doorman. Her unit is one of four in the Manhattan building, which takes up an entire block in the city.

Lopez will be neighbors with Chelsea Clinton and NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon, according to the website, but Clinton and her husband Marc Mezvinksy bought their home for only $10.5 million in 2013.

The 45-year-old singer and actress, who will judge Idol's upcoming fourteenth edition with Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr., grew up in abject poverty in the Bronx.
