Jesse called the series of events "really intense" and "really emotional."
"It was one of those situations where Clayton and I had spoken beforehand about what he was going to say, what was on his mind, what he was thinking, and what he was feeling," the host recalled.
"And when he told me what he was going to do, you just sort of knew where that was going."
On The Bachelor's 26th season last year, Clayton attempted to give Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia roses after admitting to them that he had fallen in love with three people -- including Susie Evans -- and had also slept with both Rachel and Gabby in the Fantasy Suites.
Gabby and Rachel both broke down into tears, with Rachel memorably sprawled out and sobbing on a staircase. The women ultimately accepted roses, only to be dumped simultaneously after meeting Clayton's family.
"Obviously in that moment, I just really felt for the women. I just remember it being incredibly, incredibly emotional," Jesse explained.
"And I think that came across. I think the people that saw that, that really came across."
Jesse recalled his second "messiest" moment being "the Rose Ceremony during The Bachelorette when Rachel had three different guys reject her roses."
Jesse was referring to The Bachelorette's nineteenth season last year when three suitors -- Termayne Harper, Alec Garza, and James "Meatball" Clarke -- turned down a rose from Rachel in the hopes of having a shot with Gabby.

"We never saw that situation arising," Jesse insisted.
"I know that was sort of a moment that we were just kind of riding the lightning and seeing what would happen. But I think being in the room and just looking at Rachel and just seeing how that was affecting her, especially too, because she had just been through the previous season with Clayton."
On Clayton's The Bachelor season, Rachel accepted Clayton's rose following "the Rose Ceremony from hell," only to be dumped by Clayton after meeting his family.
Clayton broke up with Rachel and Gabby at the same time, saying he loved Susie more and wanted to pursue a relationship with her.
"That was really tough," Jesse noted of Rachel's trio of rejections on The Bachelorette. "I could see how devastated she was."
"And so those were two moments I never anticipated happening, and just, in the moment, I was trying to help navigate it and help them navigate it as best as possible," Jesse concluded.
Jesse also admitted there's been "a lot" of times he's wanted to sit a contestant down and give him or her a talking to.
"There's been a lot of those in Paradise," Jesse said with a laugh. "It's a combination of margaritas, humidity, and no breeze. People just pop off a lot... and there's a lot of stuff that happens off-camera."

Jesse said, for instance, he has seen contestants mistreat members of the production staff.
"There's a moment when you have to be like, 'Hey, you still have to be respectful of everybody here. It's hot for you but it's hot for them. You're not the only one who's awake until 5AM,'" Jesse explained.
"This woman has been carrying a camera all day and all night," he added.
Regardless of the all the drama, Jesse shared how hosting The Bachelor franchise is "the most fun" he's had in his television and sports career.
Now that 2022 is in the rearview mirror, Jesse is looking forward to the premiere of Zach Shallcross' The Bachelor season on Monday, January 23 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
ABC just released the official cast of 30 bachelorettes who will be competing for Zach's heart last week.
Jesse teased on Becca and Michelle's podcast how Zach really "shines" on The Bachelor and has "a beautiful story" to tell.
However, Jesse is worried Zach isn't prepared for what's coming up.
Based on a trailer of the new season that was released by ABC during Bachelor in Paradise's Season 8 reunion on November 22, The Bachelor's 27th edition promises to be dramatic and emotional.
Former The Bachelor bachelorette Tahzjuan Hawkins apparently returns for another shot at love, prompting one bachelorette to complain in the preview, "We don't need another girl here."

And Zach admits he feels like "a failure," before crying about one woman, "I saw something with her."

"The women are really into Zach," Jesse told the magazine. "Zach's so emotionally mature and he's a guy that's not afraid to wear his emotion on his sleeve. He's very, very intentional. This is easily the most emotional show that I've hosted in the franchise."
Zach's season began filming in late September, which is when ABC also released 32 potential cast members.
Zach recently told BachelorNation.com that he wants to find a "really compassionate" woman who's "kind to everyone."
"I think a lot of people can be really self-involved. So how you treat people on a day-to-day basis is really important to me," Zach said. "I just want someone who is a really kind, compassionate person."
He also said that going into filming, he was "most nervous" about meeting a woman who was on the show for the wrong reasons.
"I'm most nervous about the fact that there could be people that are on this journey and a part of this experience that don't take it seriously and don't want to actually find love," Zach shared. "I want to find someone who truly wants a future with me, so that's what scares me the most."
