Jesse Palmer has shared what he really thinks about one of Joan Vassos' The Golden Bachelorette frontrunners, Charles "Chock" Chapple.

Joan asked Chock, a 60-year-old insurance executive from Wichita, KS, on the very first one-on-one date of The Golden Bachelorette season, and their romantic outing aired on September 25.

Joan got to see a fun and carefree side of Chock at Disneyland, and then they bonded that night over having lost their partners in tragic ways.

"There's a chemistry there and a connection," Jesse told Us Weekly.

"Chock was someone right away, when I was talking to him off camera, [I could tell] he's a man's man and he is an alpha -- that's just kind of how I put it."

Jesse added how Chock is "a leader of men, someone who's wildly successful professionally and also has a really touching and unique personal story to him as well."

But Jesse suggested The Golden Bachelorette viewers have only "scratched the surface" on getting to know Chock.

"By the way, I was shocked that that was the first ever date at Disneyland in Bachelor history," The Golden Bachelorette host noted.

"So it was a very special moment that they both got to share, but they both made the most of it as well."

During the dinner portion of Joan and Chock's date, Chock shared how he had been married for 12 years -- and welcomed children with this woman -- but their relationship didn't work out.

Chock said he spent three years healing until he met someone new, Kathy, whom he eventually proposed marriage to.

The engaged couple spent nine years together but then, after a seizure, doctors found tumors on Kathy's brain.

Chock recalled feeling "helpless" as Cathy's health declined and she ultimately passed away in his arms five months after her diagnosis.

Chock's vulnerability enabled Joan to talk about the death of her late husband John Vassos, who got very sick and ultimately died in 2021 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

"I think one thing about Joan and Chock is they're very willing to talk about heartbreak or uncomfortable things together very, very early on and be open and honest with each other about what they're hoping for," Jesse told the magazine.

Jesse thought Joan and Chock's first date didn't seem like a first date at all.

"Watching them, I thought, 'That does not seem like there's the butterfly nerves of a first date and you're just really touching on treetop stuff and scratching the surface,'" Jesse acknowledged.

Chock even told Joan that she reminded him of his late fiancee, which Joan interpreted as a huge compliment.

"It's a good launching pad for the two of them," Jesse said.

"They really kind of got into it. But I think on these shows that's so critical and key; The people that can do that have a much better chance."

Jesse added, "And sometimes it's just chemistry that allows them to go there with each other. Joan and Chock definitely have that."

At the end of Joan and Chock's date in California, Joan told the bachelor that she had a great time with him and she felt safe in his presence.

Joan therefore decided to give Chock a rose, and they shared a sweet kiss.

Joan and Chock realized they had a lot in common as well as similar values and goals for the future.

"I don't necessarily believe in fate, but this surprises [me]... We both learned from those great loves that we had," Joan shared in a confessional on The Golden Bachelorette.

"I just feel really connected to Chock and I feel like a princess. I am so happy and really hopeful!"

Chock, in turn, gushed about how Joan gave him a little pitter-patter in his heart.

The Golden Bachelorette currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on ABC, and Chock is still competing for Joan's heart on the show.
