MTV has announced that The Ashlee Simpson Show, a reality series that will follow Jessica Simpson's younger sister Ashlee as she attempts to make the jump from teen actress to pop star, will premiere Wednesday, June 16th at 10:30PM ET/PT.

Therefore, with Ashlee's debut album, entitled "Autobiography," scheduled for release on July 20, The Ashlee Simpson Show will begin a six week long advance PR push when it premieres on Wednesday, June 16th at 10:30PM ET/PT following the 10PM third season premiere of big sister Jessica and brother-in-law Nick Lachey's Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica. The show will follow Ashlee's musical efforts every step of the way, as MTV cameras tag along as Ashlee signs her first record recording deal, writes songs, auditions her band and records her first album.
Aside from the process of making her album, Ashlee will also let viewers in on her social life and witness her various relationships with friends, family and of course, boys. In the series, Ashlee will also confront the break-up with her longtime boyfriend actor/singer Josh Henderson and turn her feelings into a song on her album. From band practice to label meetings, album cover shoots and everything in between, viewers will gain full access to Ashlee's entire album recording process, from the making of the album to the band’s first on-stage performance together.
