Jay Bakker, son of former television evangelists Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, has taken up the family business and is starring in a new reality documentary series.

"One Punk Under God" airs in six parts on the Sundance Channel and carries the sub-title "The Prodigal Son of Jim and Tammy Faye."

The television series focuses on tattooed Jay as he preaches his own ministry from a candy store where everyone is welcome. The inclusion of homosexuals, the New York Daily News said Wednesday, caused some of his conservative backers to pull out of the fledgling Revolution church.

But Bakker, 30, says his message is one of inclusion.

"It's kind of showing that we're not all right-wing Christian Coalition neoconservatives," he told the newspaper. "You can care about social issues. You can care about the poor and the hurting."

The Daily News said "One Punk" will feature a visit to what's left of the opulent North Carolina compound he and his parents lived in during the height of their "Praise the Lord" TV ministry, which ended with Jim Bakker doing time in prison.
