The Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos has revealed what the conversation with her children was like after they had met Chock Chapple for the first time in Bora Bora.

On The Golden Bachelorette's finale, Chock -- who already knew the names of Joan's children when he first met Joan on Night 1 -- was the first of Joan's Final 2 bachelors to meet Joan's family.

Joan's son Nick admitted to Chock he had very high expectations for his mom's future partner and that Chock would have very big shoes to fill.

But Joan shared on a recent episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast that her family thought Chock was fantastic as well as the obvious winner of The Golden Bachelorette's heart.

"My kids thought it was so obvious that he was the person, and they literally said that they've never seen me look happier," Joan told Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt on the podcast.

Joan apparently struggled for years before and after the death of her late husband John Vassos, who passed away in 2021 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

"We had so many years when John was dying, for two years, and then he passed away. So it was three years of [grief]. And then, you know, it was during COVID and our business failed," Joan explained.

"We just had a lot of really hard times," she added, "all in like a five-year period."

But Joan admitted she was "just plain happy" when Chock met her family and they got to spend some time with each other in the same room.

"Plain and simple: life was good again," Joan shared. "It just felt good. I had my person and they could just see it on my face!"

Joan said her children got to talk to Chock and, at the end of the day, they embraced him and were ready to welcome him into the family.

"We were all good. There was no need to go any further. We were done," Joan recalled.

Chock also revealed that he had gotten to spend more time with Joan's family off-camera that day.

"After that day, we all went out to dinner," Chock shared.

"Joan was like, 'Is it cool if we go out to dinner with my family?' And I was like, 'Absolutely!' That's a big part of who we are, our family and friends."

At this point in The Golden Bachelorette process, Joan's other Final 2 bachelor, Guy Gansert, was still in the picture.

Guy had been hoping to meet Joan's family because he was falling in love with her, but Joan decided to break up with him in Bora Bora before he could even have that chance.

Guy ended up finishing in second place behind Chock on The Golden Bachelorette finale, and Guy admitted he was "heartbroken" and "devastated" by his breakup with Joan.

Joan and Chock ultimately got engaged on The Golden Bachelorette finale, which just aired on ABC earlier this month.

Joan said that going into her The Golden Bachelorette journey, her kids really wanted her to be happy.

"I was really serious. I felt like this was a really unique opportunity to find somebody, that I was never going to have this chance again," Joan explained.

"I know that if they saw I was happy, they were going to be really open to the person that I had met because they wanted it to turn out well for me."

During their final date of The Golden Bachelorette process, Chock said he was "ready to go" and propose marriage.

"I'm the luckiest guy," Chock concluded.

"And the surprise of her kids being there after our engagement, after Joan accepted it, it's one of those moments you'll remember -- and the kids were so happy!"

As for what's next for the happy couple, Joan plans to stay in Maryland and Chock will continue living in Kansas.

However, Joan and Chock are going to spend the holidays together with Joan's family and then begin apartment hunting in New York City.

Joan and Chock said they'd like to have a convenient meet-up spot where they can spend time together in the Big Apple.

Joan and Chock also shared how they have many international trips planned for 2025 -- including stops in Africa and France.
