The Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos has revealed that she was "nervous" her first blended holiday with Chock Chapple and his kids was going to be "uncomfortable."

Chock, 60, and his two children joined Joan and her kids for Thanksgiving in Maryland, and Joan admitted to Us Weekly that she was a little anxious about the gathering.

"I felt a little nervous that we, all of a sudden, were throwing everybody together. Holiday times are kind of stressful anyway," Joan, 61, shared with the magazine on Friday, December 6 at iHeartRadio's Jingle Ball.

"And then to introduce, 'Here's your new family, here's your new stepbrothers and sisters, and here's me in his kids' life and Chock in my kids' life' could be uncomfortable."

But Chock assured Us that the special occasion "really went well," and Joan agreed.

"But from night one, it went great," Joan gushed.

"We went out to dinner. Our kids left us and they're like, 'Yeah, we're going to go to bars afterward,' and we went home and we left our kids out. We've been very lucky. Our kids got along really well."

Joan and Chock had documented their first holiday together on social media.

"First Thanksgiving in Maryland with the Vassos crew and Chapple kids," the pair wrote in a joint Instagram post on Monday, December 2.

"So much to be thankful for -- family, laughter, and the start of new traditions."

The couple shared several photos from their Thanksgiving together, including one image of two of Joan's children posing with Chock's children. (Joan welcomed four kids with late husband John Vassos, while Chock shares two kids with his ex-wife Heather.)

"Loved being with you guys this week!" Joan wrote in the comments section. "Felt so easy having the families together. Can't wait for the next time!"

Joan and Chock also enjoyed decorating a Christmas tree together, and they apparently hung a stock for each of their children and grandchildren.

In one funny photo, Chock was gesturing to the impressive display of over a dozen Christmas stockings while Joan was standing across the room and giggling.

On Saturday, November 30, Chock and Joan uploaded a photo of a special ornament that read, "The Golden Bachelorette. Engaged 2024."

The ornament featured a wedding dress and tuxedo, and the pair captioned the Instagram post, "Our first golden Christmas... Special thank you to my friend... for this beautiful custom ornament #newtraditions #thegoldenbachelorette."

Joan and Chock got engaged on Season 1 of The Golden Bachelorette.

Joan had repeatedly said in the press while The Golden Bachelorette was airing that she didn't expect, nor did she anticipate, getting engaged at the Final Rose Ceremony.

But when Joan fell in love with Chock, she didn't hesitate to accept his romantic marriage proposal in Bora Bora.

When asked what caused her change of heart, Joan recently told Us that she realized she had been presented with a "unique opportunity" and needed to keep an open mind.

"[I thought to myself], 'I will have a hard time finding another person.' I did find out that you could really get to know somebody in that short amount of time," Joan shared.

Joan also revealed that, if Chock were ready for an engagement, she wanted to leave that decision up to him.

Joan apparently wanted to feel desired and she thought Chock proposing would be the ultimate sign of commitment.

"Chock asked me [in Fantasy Suites], 'What do you want out of this? Do you want an engagement?'" Joan recalled.

"And I said, 'I want that to be up to you. I have picked you every single week. I've given you a rose, and now it's your turn to figure out what you want. You're in the driver's seat.'"

Chock got down on one knee at the Final Rose Ceremony in Bora Bora after Joan rejected her runner-up bachelor, Guy Gansert, in second place.

While Joan changed her mind about getting engaged on The Golden Bachelorette, she's still not going to rush into a wedding with Chock.

"You're absolutely not going to see a TV wedding in three months," Joan told the magazine, seemingly alluding to the fact The Golden Bachelor couple Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist had wed a few months after their engagement aired on ABC.

Gerry and Theresa got married in January for a live televised special, but they announced their decision to get a divorce in April. (Their divorce has since been finalized).

"I loved that ending for Gerry and Theresa. The reason we're not having a wedding in three months has nothing to do with Gerry and Theresa," Joan insisted.

"I just don't want to have another thing I have to plan right now. When we come together for a wedding, which could be a TV wedding, might not be, it won't be in three months."

Joan added, "I just don't want to have another thing to plan right now. We are loving being together, and I want to take the time for us to get to know each other's families and friends."

But Joan and Chock revealed more specifics on "The Viall Files" in November by sharing that they'll probably have a televised wedding, in order to include Bachelor Nation, in late 2025 or early 2026.

In the meantime, they'll be meeting up for romantic dates in New York City at their shared apartment and traveling the world together.
