John Hennigan was voted out of Survivor: David vs. Goliath following a dramatic Tribal Council in which two hidden Immunity Idols were played during the latest Season 37 episode on CBS.

Christian Hubicki received seven votes, but Davie Rickenbacker played an idol for him. And although Angelina Keeley received two votes, Dan Rengering played a hidden Immunity Idol to save her as well. John was therefore ousted after Survivor host Jeff Probst only read his name out loud twice.
"In classic Goliath fashion, David with the sling! Two votes from a distance, it's all it takes to take down a Goliath in the game of Survivor. And ironically, I predicted tonight a brochacho blindside," John said with a laugh in his final words. "I was talking about Christian though! And it ended up being me. Ugh, son of a b-tch."
During a recent exclusive interview with Reality TV World, John talked about his Survivor experience and that chaotic Tribal Council session. Below is a portion of what he had to say.

Reality TV World: Jeremy Crawford was booted from the game early on, and he told me Angelina targeted him because he was telling people that Angelina and yourself were in a showmance. I want to give you a chance to set the record straight on that. Was there a showmance? And assuming you're going to say "no," what do you think gave Jeremy that impression?
John Hennigan: Yeah, so, there was no showmance. I think Jeremy blew up his own game because he saw Dan and [Kara Kay] were in a showmance and he saw that people were forming alliances and talking, and Angelina and I were in an alliance. I talked a lot of game with her.
And so he started labeling things incorrectly, which was ridiculous because it was so unnecessary at that point in the game. And then he held a meeting and said all of the side conversations had to stop.
Well, in my opinion, [Jeremy] was having more side conversations than anyone. So he started getting crazy and getting paranoid and mislabeling things, which resulted in him getting voted out.
He told everyone that Dan had an idol, and Dan found that out, so he started getting upset at him for [a few] reasons... But I actually really liked Jeremy. He's a real sweet guy and he's super funny, and he's got a big heart.
I'd probably be hurt too if I went out the way he did. I think his feelings were hurt by the way he got voted out. So it kind of sucks because I feel he's been lashing out now. That's not cool. I wouldn't do that to him, but I feel that's kind of how he's coping with things.

Reality TV World: Did you feel betrayed by or frustrated with anyone in particular, maybe Alec Merlino, for example, who shared Goliath's plan with Nick Wilson?
John Hennigan: When I was out there, I did not trust Alec. I clearly didn't know he spilled the beans (laughs) before that Tribal. I didn't trust Alec and thought he was going to have to be one of the Goliaths that we, you know, take out sooner rather than later, because I did see him having a lot of conversations.
And I assumed correctly that he was talking game with all the Davids. But there was nobody I was really upset with. I did assume Alec told Nick, but I would never get upset with anyone for something like that.
That's the whole point of the game; everyone is supposed to be colluding and strategizing, and that's just how Alec was playing the game, which is fine. It's nothing to be upset about.

Reality TV World: You said in your Ponderosa video your goal was to figure out who you are and what you want out of life going forward. Did you get the answer you were looking for after the game?
John Hennigan: That's the million dollar question -- to find the real answer to what you want and what is going to make me happy. I did. But I mean, I feel the answer to that question is an ongoing process and sometimes it's an ongoing conversation with myself.
While at Ponderosa, you've got all that time to sit there and be introspective and think about things, and I feel like I got a lot of answers and epiphanies that really have made me look at everything differently.

My wife and I just bought a house... and sometimes achieving [professional goals], I prioritize that over personal relationships, and that was one of the big things I took back home with me, was taking a step back and realizing that relationships with family and friends are ultimately more important than achieving.
[Family] and friends and the closest people to me and they're whom I will be surrounded by for the rest of my life. That's one of the things I took home from this whole experience.
Currently, wrestling is one of the things when I got back that I felt like I've been swept up into, this high-responsibility position in wrestling. [Check it out] Thursday nights on POP TV at 10PM.
