The Bachelorette alum Jonathon Johnson has revealed if he thought Jenn Tran was going to choose Devin Strader or Marcus Shoberg once he was eliminated in Hawaii.

Jenn had her pool of bachelors narrowed down to only three men for Fantasy Suite dates -- Jonathon, Devin and Marcus -- and she chose to send Jonathon home after the overnights.

Jonathon left the show crushed, believing that Jenn was "The One" for him, but he also told The Bachelorette star that she had two very deserving men left in the running for her heart.

When asked whether he thought Jenn was going to pick Devin or Marcus at the time of his departure, Jonathon shared on the August 29 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast, "At that point, ugh, that's so tough!"

"I don't know. If it came down to me or Marcus, we are very similar individuals, and so I'd be like, 'Oh, it's definitely Marcus,'" Jonathon reasoned.

"But I think she was weeding out her two [similar] options in the end, because Marcus and I are very similar. She had more feelings for Marcus, and so that would be the placeholder for that."

In terms of Jenn's connection with Devin, Jonathon shared, "I feel like to a certain extent, she has an unspoken draw towards Devin that she's always had."

Jonathon also quipped that Devin has "a silver tongue" and all the guys were well aware of that.

"That dude can talk left or right, and in circles, or whatever -- but he means what he says," Jonathon confirmed.

"And I think Jenn saw that really early on and he was getting the first roses repeatedly. I'm sitting here against guys who are getting first roses, two one-on-ones, and I'm just kind of like, 'Yeah, [I'm not her top pick.'"

Jonathon said watching The Bachelorette back gave him "a ton" of clarity on why he finished in third place.

"Seeing the other two [men's] relationship with Jenn gave me all the clarity and reassurance that I needed. I could see that it wasn't just because I couldn't get there," Jonathon explained.

"Because it's easy to be hard on yourself and sit there and say, 'It's your fault. You couldn't get there. You couldn't do this.' But then you see her relationship with the other two guys, and you're like, 'Okay, now this makes sense.'"

Jonathon explained how Jenn clearly had "so much love for Marcus," and she even said, "I love you" to Marcus at the beginning of their Fantasy Suite date.

"And on the flip side, you have Devin, who's just able to get there so quick. I think he had feelings for her faster than anybody," Jonathon noted.

"Seeing that it just wasn't there [with us], that was the closure. [I said to myself], 'It wasn't her. It wasn't you. It just wasn't right.'"

Jonathon and Jenn had a mutual understanding that he was a slow burn in relationships.

It took Jonathon time to trust Jenn and believe that she was showing her true colors, and so at the time of his hometown date, Jonathon admitted on "Bachelor Happy Hour" that he wasn't ready to get engaged.

However, Fantasy Suites changed Jonathon's mindset and convinced him that Jenn was "my person."

In the morning after their Fantasy Suite, both Jenn and Jonathon were beaming ear to ear, and Jonathon told the cameras he felt more confident in his relationship with The Bachelorette star than ever before.

"The vibes, the energy and the happiness is so through-the-roof that we can't contain it... We had conversations with no words being held back. It was letting loose and enjoying the person we're choosing to pursue," Jonathon shared at the time of filming.

"I see the picture of getting down on one knee... I can see this being something absolutely incredible."

Jonathon claimed he and Jenn had received the "clarity" they needed during that date in terms of who they are as people and what they could have together.

Jenn, however, chose to send Jonathon home, and he told the cameras, "I regret the fact that I wasn't able to just jump into [with Jenn]."

Jonathon told Jenn that she was perfect for him but he couldn't be the perfect man for her in return.

"I'm so mad at myself. I could've gotten there sooner," Jonathon tearfully said in his final words.

"I could've done better. I could've been better. I can see an amazing future with this girl, and I feel like the biggest idiot in the world because something amazing was right in front of me and I was too much my own enemy to see it until I was too late."

Jonathon acknowledged that he was "just tired of standing in" his own way.

But Jonathon revealed on The Men Tell All special that he will be joining the cast of Bachelor in Paradise's tenth season when the spinoff returns to ABC in 2025.
