Josh Gallagher has the utmost respect for his The Voice opponent, Blaine Long, after tearing down the house together in the "Battle Round."

Blake Shelton's team members Josh, a 25-year-old from Johnstown, PA, and Blaine, a 40-year-old from Parkersburg, WV, performed "Stranger In My House" together.
Blake admitted the Battle broke his heart because it meant he'd have to let one of the talented and deserving guys go.
"It was a pretty close call. With Blaine, I went into that Battle like, both of us had no idea whom Blake was going to pick. Because we both had such good parts in that song. It was just so close! We had no idea what was going to happen," Josh explained.
"And we went out on that stage and poured our hearts out and literally sang the hell out of that song."
Once they finished the Battle, Josh noted the guys exchanged "a little hug thing at the end."
"I had no idea whom Blake was going to pick," Josh reiterated. "I had no clue, not a clue at all."
When it became time to make a decision, Blake said Josh really pushed himself and surpassed the coach's expectations. Blake admitted unfortunately that Blaine had "sold himself short" in the Battle when it came to his vocal performance.
Blake therefore chose to keep Josh on his team, which ultimately eliminated Blaine from the Season 11 competition.
"It was pretty cool. When Blake called my name, I was actually pretty shocked. Like I said, I had no idea what was going to happen," Josh told Reality TV World. "It was such a close Battle and there was no way of predicting who was going to win that, in my opinion."
The Voice's "Battle Round" came to a close on Tuesday night, so the "Knockout Round" will commence next week.
