Joy-Anna Duggar has accepted her longtime friend Austin Forsyth's request to begin a courtship.

Duggar, 19, revealed the big news on Tuesday's special episode of Counting On: Jinger's Wedding, and then TLC posted a video of the new couple talking about their dating arrangement on the Duggar family website.
"I just asked her to enter a courtship with me," Forsyth said in the video.
"And I said, 'Yes!' We've known each other for a long time," Duggar revealed.
"Almost 15 years," Forsyth noted.

A courtship for the Duggar family means supervised dates and no kissing or even hand-holding. The typical courtship leads toward an engagement.
Duggar and her love interest were all smiles in the video as they appeared to be sitting on the edge of a cliff with beautiful hills and foliage in the background.
"I picked this spot because the last time we were here together was August 1 of 2015," Forsyth told the cameras.
"There was a whole group of us that came up and we were just hanging out. It was really late at night. The stars were gorgeous. For me, that was just really special, just being with him. And now it's even more special because it's where we start our courtship," Duggar explained.
Forsyth seems to share a similar religious background as the Duggar family.

"It's a place I come to sometimes to just get away and spend time with the Lord. And I just knew this was the place I wanted to ask her," Forsyth said.
"I was so surprised!" Duggar gushed in the video. "He said, 'Oh, we're just going to go to the rock for a little bit. I hadn't been here in so long; I was not expecting it. I'm so happy."
Duggar's courtship begins just weeks after her older sister Jinger Duggar married former soccer player Jeremy Vuolo in front of nearly 1,000 friends and family.
Fans will be able to watch Forsyth and Duggar's courtship play out when the third season of Counting On premieres in January 2017.
