The Boston Globe reported that after the 36-year-old singer failed to show up at the Monday trial in Canton, Mass., the judge issued the arrest warrant. The case involves two months of allegedly missing financial support for Brown's daughter La Princia and son Bobby Jr.

The children's mother, Kim Ward, is seeking $11,000 in child payments from the former New Edition star, whose full name is Robert Beresford "Bobby" Brown, and the trial represents the most recent legal woes for Brown.

The newspaper added that back in 2004, Brown was sentenced to 90 days in prison for failing to pay child support, a sentence that was later suspended after the singer made a payment. Brown recently was hit by a request for a legal separation by his wife, singer Whitney Houston.
