Juliana's dad proceeds to warn The Bachelor star, "I'm an Italian guy. We protect our own; I've got a problem on my hands."

Juliana dished about her hometown date with Grant in Newton, MA -- and her parents' reaction to The Bachelor star -- during the Thursday, February 27 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.

"Yeah, it's hard for them. Well, not hard, but it's different for them for all the reasons of seeing it on TV," Juliana explained to the podcast's co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt.

"But also, I have never brought a guy home. That's only happened once in my life, and so they've never really seen me interact with men that I'm romantically involved with."

Juliana added, "So I'm the baby of my family and my parents are like, 'What the hell is happening?!'"

Juliana joked about how she's "still a baby" in her parents' eyes, even though she's 28-years-old.

"And so watching me kiss other people, it's cringey for me, and so I can't even imagine how god-awful it was for them!" Juliana said.

"I just begged them to promise me that if it looked like that was going to happen, close your eyes. 'Just please, close your eyes... It never happened! I don't know what you're talking about!'"

Juliana is very close to her family and she seems to be a daddy's girl, which may have complicated her relationship with Grant.

In January 2025, Juliana had written on Instagram in honor of her father's birthday, "Forever in awe of all you do for your family, friends, community, & even strangers. The epitome of 'it's nice to be nice.'"

Grant's other three hometown dates were with Dina Lupancu, Litia Garr and Zoe McGrady.

And based on The Bachelor 29 preview of its upcoming March 3 episode, Juliana's hometown wasn't the only tricky date for Grant that week.

"Her family is just protective. They do not bring anyone into their family just because," one woman tells Grant of Dina.

And a woman appearing to be Zoe's mother admits, "I'd like to give him a chance, but I am skeptical."

In addition, Grant worries he won't fit in with Litia's conservative and religious family, especially since he's the first man she ever brought home who's not a member of her LDS Church.

"I'm not Mormon. I have tattoos and I wear earrings, and I do drink sometimes. So will they accept me?"
Grant questions.

Grant tells the cameras that hometown dates were "a lot harder than" he "expected it to be," and he adds, "The family not buying in could be a make-or-break situation."

However, it appears hometown dates managed to deepen and strengthen Grant's connections with some of his Final 4 bachelorettes.

Juliana tells a loved one of Grant, "I think this man is my forever guy," and Litia shares with Grant, "I'm falling in love with you."

And Grant admits he's "really happy" with Dina and is "falling for" her.
