Kalani Faagata met Asuelu Pulaa when she traveled to Samoa in July 2016 and Asuelu was working as an activities director at the resort Kalani visited.

The couple kept in touch, and during Kalani's second visit to Samoa, she decided to lose her virginity to Asuelu and got pregnant.

Kalani, a 29-year-old from Orange County, CA, and Asuelu, a 23-year-old from Samoa, therefore moved forward with a K-1 visa so Asuelu could become a hands-on father and the pair could hopefully get married and live together permanently in the United States. 

Once Asuelu arrived, however, Kalani learned he had a lot of growing up to do and had no idea how to handle or take care of their son without guidance and instruction. Kalani worried Asuelu might never be the husband and father she hoped he could be.

However, the couple managed to work out their issues -- which included Kalani discovering she was pregnant again -- and 90 Day Fiance's sixth-season finale showed Kalani and Asuelu getting married. 

Kalani and Asuelu have remained together since then, and regularly post updates of their lives on their social media accounts.

In March 2019, Kalani posted an Instagram update in which she revealed her second pregnancy had been difficult.

"I haven't done many pregnancy updates because I haven't been doing very well both mentally and physically," she wrote.

Kalani gave birth to the couple's second child, a baby boy they named Kennedy, on May 7 after nearly eleven hours of labor.

"I am so excited. I finally get to see my newborn baby," Asuelu said in a video the couple released on YouTube.

In September 2019, Kalani took to Instagram and made it clear that the couple's relationship had hit some bumps since the new baby's arrival.

"Do all husbands expect their wives to pay bills, clean the whole house, do all the laundry, feed/watch the kids 24/7 (unless said husband is in public or wants a selfie)?" she asked in an Instagram Stories poll.

"Asking for my gottdamn self. Is this normal?"

Apparently 70 percent of Kalani's followers who participated in the poll answered "No."

In July 2020, Asuelu wished Kalani a happy birthday on his Instagram account by posting a video of his wife and son. He wrote over the video "love of my life."

And in the caption, Asuelu gushed, "My wife's birthday. Cheers for 32nd years my love @kalanifaagata and many more to come."

Later that same month, Asuelu also captioned a series of photos of his family in Pine Valley, UT. They appeared to do some hiking by a lake.

"Family Adventure #blessed #love #utahcheck," Asuelu captioned the slideshow.

Kalani has also posted recent photos with Asuelu on Instagram.

In Summer 2020, Kalani and Asuelu returned to TV as part of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After's Season 5 cast.

Prior to that, the couple also continued to make appearances on 90 Day Fiance: Pillow Talk, TLC's 90 Day Fiance spinoff which features former cast members offering commentary on episodes on the reality franchise's newest seasons.

In March 2021, TLC announced Kalani and Asuelu will also be part of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After's Season 6 cast.
