Kanye West is seen auditioning in a new clip of the upcoming 15th and final season of "American Idol," much to the judges delight.
The video released by E! News Monday, shows a smiling West playing the part of an unknown artist trying to get noticed through the show. The judges, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. played along as well pretending to be unaware who West was.
"My name is Kanye, I'm from the south side of Chicago," the rapper says while introducing himself. "I'm originally a producer. I always wanted to rap and no one really believed in me, so I wanted to try some things out, ya know?"
A pregnant Kim Kardashain was along for the ride as well to support her husband mentioning to host Ryan Seacrest "I'm not really nervous because I do really believe in him. I didn't give any advice on singing, rapping. I just really believe in him."
West chose to perform his hit-single from 2005 "Gold Digger" since "it has one of the judges names in it," referring to Lopez.
After performing a cappella version of the song, the 38-year-old was then granted Idol's signature golden ticket without much deliberation.
The final season of "American Idol" premieres Wednesday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
West was recently named GQ's Most Stylish Man for the second year in a row after earning more fan votes then runner-up Lucky Blue Smith.
