Kanye West has been named the 2015 recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.
West, who has "created some of the most memorable and spectacular moments in MTV VMA's history," will join the likes of Beyonce and Justin Timberlake who have previously taken home the award.
The now 38-year-old rapper is infamously known for rushing the stage and grabbing the microphone from Taylor Swift back at the 2009 VMAs while she was accepting an award for Best Female Video.
Swift and West have recently reconciled at this year's Grammys, with the pop-singer telling Vanity Fair that "I feel like I wasn't ready to be friends with [West] until I felt like he had some sort of respect for me and he wasn't ready to be friends with me until he had some sort of respect for me-so it was the same issue, and we both reached the same place at the same time."
Taylor Swift will also be present at the VMAs to debut her new video for Wildest Dreams.MTV's Video Music Awards will air Sunday, Aug. 30.
