If Kate Gosselin is interested in starring on The Bachelorette, ABC would apparently welcome her with open arms.

"That would be great," said ABC entertainment president Steve McPherson during a Wednesday appearance on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM morning radio show. "Unfortunately I can't officially confirm or deny that at all. But that would be fantastic. She was great on [Dancing with the Stars]."
"So from the top, there's official interest?" asked Seacrest.
"Absolutely," replied the network president.
On Wednesday, Life & Style reported that the Kate Plus 8 star is "working on a deal to do a new reality dating series with ABC" that is "possibly matching her with single dads."

A TLC representative subsequently denied the report when contacted by E! News, calling the Life & Style report "inaccurate."
While McPherson expressed interest in landing Gosselin for The Bachelorette, the reality dating series' creator was a little less enthusiastic about her potential involvement.
"I guess it's kind of interesting. I haven't really thought about it. I've never spoken with her, and that's the truth," The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss told Seacrest in a separate Wednesday morning interview.
"Seriously, it would sort of have to be a special edition of The Bachelor because I don't want to jump the shark and do something weird like that. But if she wanted to do her own sort of The Bachelorette kind of thing, that might be cool."
Chris Harrison -- who has helmed every The Bachelor and The Bachelorette edition -- believes having Gosselin on the show would be must-see-TV.

"From all I hear, she's actually a lovely woman and as nice as can be. I think that would be a phenomenal show. Can you imagine, getting gout on a date and you walk up and there's a woman standing out front with eight kids behind her?!" Harrison told Seacrest.
"It would be a great show. What guy has what it takes to even walk in the door and say, 'Yeah, I'm going to give this a shot.'"
