Kathy Griffin has been confirmed as the new host of Fashion Police.

Griffin, a 54-year-old comedian and actress who previously starred on Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, will be taking over for the late Joan Rivers on Fashion Police beginning Monday, January 12 of next year, E! News reported

"I get it! These are some big shoes I'm going to fill. Joan was truly one of a kind. Now I hope you will accept me for me. I'm just Kathy. Did I say I'm just Kathy? I meant I'm Kathy F-cking Griffin and you celebrities better strap yourself in, as I am taking no prisoners. I am not holding back so DAMMIT let's have some fun!" Griffin said in a statement obtained by E! News.

Griffin will star on Fashion Police with returning co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne. Celebrity stylist and TV personality Brad Goreski, who stars on It's a Brad Brad World, will also be joining the panel of experts.

With the addition of Goreski, George Kotsiopoulos will apparently not be reprising his role on the E! series.

"Kathy just feels right, and Brad brings a fun, new voice to join Giuliana and Kelly in this ensemble," said executive producer Melissa Rivers, the daughter of Joan. "I'm excited to see where this panel takes this series my mother so adored in this next incarnation."

Reports surfaced last month Griffin was a top contender to replace Rivers, who passed away at the age of 81 on September 4 after going into cardiac arrest during a throat procedure. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes had also allegedly been in the running.

"Not only was Joan a trailblazer, she was also a dear friend and mentor to Kathy, who will no doubt continue her legacy and do the series justice by bringing her own unique comedic style and tell-it-like-it-is personality to the host chair," E! executive Jeff Olde said in a statement, according to E! News.

"Plus, the addition of trendsetting stylist Brad completes the panel as the show begins its next chapter, which will focus on covering the major award shows and fashion events throughout the year."

Fashion Police has been on a hiatus following Rivers' death but will return with 17 new episodes in the new year with Golden Globes coverage. The series has been airing since September 2010.
