The 33-year-old has grown a lot since her "American Idol" days. Now a married woman, stepmom to Brandon's two children and mommy to an 8-month-old daughter -- River Rose -- Kelly admits that in 2002, she never thought she'd have a family of her own.

"I never thought honestly I would get married or fall in 'love'," the "Heartbeat Song" singer admits in a February interview on "CBS Sunday Morning." "I never thought that would happen ... because I didn't think it was true."

Clarkson married talent manager Blackstock, 38, in October 2013, and since has gushed about her relationship with him. Blackstock was the first man she ever said, "I love you" to. "Yeah, yeah, that's the first time that happened," she admitted.

About her relationship and attempts to have a second child, Kelly tells Redbook, "I always swore ours would not be a relationship where we have to schedule sex. That is never going to happen."

"We put each other first. I call it the oxygen-mask mentality -- take care of yourself first!" she says.

Although Miss Independent is happier than ever with her family and career, she still has to fight for herself against online haters who criticize her weight.

"I don't obsess about my weight, which is probably one of the reasons why other people have such a problem with it," she says.

"There are just some people who are born skinny ... that is not me," she admits, "I wish I had a better metabolism. But someone else probably wishes they could walk into a room and make friends with everyone like I can. You always want what someone else has."

Kelly Clarkson released her first album after becoming a mom, "Piece By Piece" in February 2015.
