It looks like things are going to get worse for Kelly Clarkson before they get better.

"Plans for Kelly Clarkson's summer tour have been shelved for now as the singer and her team re-evaluate her show's size and scope - a decision made even more difficult by the impending release of her album, 'My December,'" her representative Paul Freundlich said in a statement, according to People.
"I can't tell you how much I've been looking forward to getting out there to perform for y'all," Clarkson wrote in a fan statement released on her website. "In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won't be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon."
"But I promise you that we're going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better," Clarkson continued. "Thanks for all of your love and continued support."
Clarkson's tour was originally scheduled to kick-off on Wednesday, July 11 at Portland, OR's Rose Garden Arena and span more than 30 North American cities before concluding on Saturday, September 29 in Las Vegas, NV at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
"Ticket sales have not been what we anticipated and we came to the realization that we had bit off more than we could chew," said Michael Rapino, CEO of the tour's promoter LiveNation, according to People.
According to Clarkson's website, current ticket holders can get refunds at their original point of purchase. In addition, once the new tour dates are announced, they will be given an exclusive presale opportunity to purchase tickets to the new concert dates.
Clarkson had pumped for the tour as it was to expected to highlight her new "My December" songs -- all 14 of which were all written or co-written by Clarkson -- that sparked her feud with Davis, who reportedly wanted the new album to feature more mainstream pop music written by other songwriters.
"I'm pretty much gonna rock it out, 'cause it's just like, 'Damn, I had to work so hard for y'all to even hear this song!'" said Clarkson in the June 14 issue of Rolling Stone about her tour. "['My December'] is definitely more of a touring album. There's stuff that we can really rock out to, and then there's intimate moments that will be so pretty 'cause we're bringing string and horns out."
However the tour's postponement now apparently means there will be more of those intimate moments Clarkson was talking about. Gregg Perloff, CEO of Another Planet Entertainment, reportedly said in the statement that new dates for the tour will take place at smaller venues than originally planned.
"The day when [Clarkson] will play in sold-out arenas is, no doubt, coming, but for now her fans should look forward to seeing her in a more intimate concert environment," said Perloff, according to People.
