"They had a flirty chemistry from the start," a source close to Nick told Us of Kendall and the "Jealous" singer.
"When they're ready and it turns official, we'll start seeing photos," noted an insider.
Hadid, 20, and Nick's brother Joe, 25, reportedly reintroduced Kendall and Nick for the sake of having an awesome group to spend time with.
"Gigi wants Kendall around all the time," another source said. "She thinks it would be fun for all of them to hang out."
Such hangout sessions would allegedly be likely even if Kendall, 19, and Nick, 22, weren't romantically involved, so Hadid thought it wouldn't hurt to try to ignite a flame.
"They are all going to end up hanging out regardless, so it seems like a simple situation, which could be a lot of fun," the source added.
And so the plan worked, as Kendall and Nick quickly started texting and getting to know each other better.
Nick was fresh off his June split from former Miss USA, Olivia Culpo, his girlfriend of almost two years. Meanwhile, rumors have circulated in recent months about whom Kendall might be dating, like race car driver Lewis Hamilton, but nothing has clearly stuck.
"Nick was single and looking to date and there was an obvious attraction. He absolutely thinks she's hot," the source close to Nick told Us.
However, the new couple is reportedly taking things slow and staying out of the spotlight for now.
