The 21-year-old model and reality star said it was "an honor" to follow in Cindy Crawford's footsteps after being named the face of Pepsi's "Live for Now" moments campaign.

"It's an honor to be following up some of the icons and amazing, cool people that have done this before me," she told People.

The "Jump In" ad shows Jenner ditching a photoshoot to join a crowd of protestors. Pepsi said in a press release that the video, which features the Skip Marley song "Lion," captures "the spirit and actions of those people that jump in to every moment."

"To me, Pepsi is more than just a beverage -- it registers as a pop culture icon and a lifestyle that shares a voice with the generation of today," Jenner added.

"The spirit of Pepsi -- living in the 'now' moment -- is one that I believe in. I make a conscious effort in my everyday life and travels to enjoy every experience of today."

Jenner is the first model since Crawford, now 51, to land a global Pepsi ad campaign. She photographed the supermodel's daughter, 15-year-old Kaia Gerber, for Love magazine last year.

"Kendall told me that my mom is one of the people she looks up to most, and it's cool to see it come full circle because Kendall is that role model for me," Gerber said in the interview.
